Thanks to everybody who replied. I ordered some turnbuttons from a sailboat place online for around 60 cents a piece. Now I have to decide how to make them black.
Thanks for the quick reply Warthog. The turnbuttons that I've found so far online are all metal. The ones on my new c-pillar are plastic. Did early hmmwvs have the metal turnbuttons? And are the same size/style turnbuttons found on other kinds of military vehicles?
All I gave them was the fs # and they mixed my paint. The reason I questioned the different label is because my paint seems to dark. My label is the one on the left.
To me a steel tub would be a + because of raw material cost and availabity. Theres also conflicting info on the net about the alloy used on an actual Humvee being harder to weld than some types of aluminum. Of course there mostly riveted together anyway.

That tremor guy just seems to proud of what he has done. Plus his design is way to overkill and heavy.$550 dollars is way to much to spend for just a few measurements as I probably would change a lot of his desigh anyway.
