    wont start again..

I'd agree with this more. It sounds like your starter is getting power, but maybe not a lot. It could be a lot of simple things like your batteries are just drained too low or a bad cable thats not letting much power through efficiently. Check all your cables, your starter relay, if you...

    Painting a CUCV?

I've never painted anything before and am planning on taking this to a shop to have done for me because I don't want to screw anything up. I was thinking desert tan with black bumpers and brush guards. Has anyone had their truck painted before, if so what did it cost? Also what could i do...

    Underbelly Rust

Just wondering if I should be concerned with rust on the differential case, leaf springs, and pretty much the rest of the underside of the truck?

    Lift vs Tire size

If you want 33's I'd recommend tacking a 1-2 inch lift on there, its pretty simple, cheap, and eliminates most problems of the larger tires. It also gives it a better look in my opinion, the tire wells don't look cramped, which bugs me a lot.

need some M1009 civi tire advice

I'm not 100% sure if these will fit on your stock rims but they lasted a pretty long while on my buddy's truck and were mostly on the highway, they aren't very noisy and look really good. BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO Just a thought.

New M1008 Checklist, Anything to add?

I'll be buying a M1008 as soon as I sell my motorcycle to open the slot for a new toy. I'm only allowed one :(. Anyway, through my scanning of the forum, I've kind of created a check and repair list that I'll perform immediately, within a year, and if I have the money left over. I'll include...

    tires again

I'm also thinking that 33 or 35 inch tires would be nice. I would only want to lift it about 4-6 inches and am thinkin I might have some trouble clearing the tires. Also what size tire would fit the stock rim? And what would do the least damage to the truck, a 33 inch set of tires right...

    Freeway vibration

Once my brother slid his axle right through the u-joints so it didn't line up right (slid sideways into a curb). It's an easy check, just check out your rear axle and look for rub marks where it used to be. Thats probably not it but its worth a quick look.

    6.2L Power?

Through my research of the M1008, I've been hearing a lot of complaints of lack of power. I know it only has around 210 for horsepower but the ft/lbs of torque should be high right? Anyway, do your guys M1008's have adequate power to climb pretty good inclines and similar obstacles?

M1008 vs M1009 Which to buy???

Thanks all who posted. I think I'm going to go with the 1008 and do a gear swap. I'm not gonna be wheeling very hard so breaking a dana 60 isn't really a concern for me right now. I'll just make sure to out about 500 bucks in a oh **** fund in case something happens to the truck. What are some...

M1008 vs M1009 Which to buy???

Hey, Im new to the forum and the trucks. However I'm beginning to love them both, I need to know some opinions on which to buy, I've got about 3500 bucks to spend and dependability is my main concern. I have the basic knowledge of an engine and the tools to keep it going, I think, I don't really...
