When I took my A3 to the tire dealer for some new O rings and valve stem grommets, they torqued the lug nuts to a full 500 ft lbs. I use a three foot cheater pipe on a 20" breaker bar and go about as tight as I can.
Mine does the same thing about 1 out of 3 starts. If I drain all of the air from the tanks and start again at zero psi, it usually shuts off the buzzer. But if I cheat, and backfill the system with shop air at the emergency glad-hand, the buzzer shuts off. I think it is the 60 psi failsafe...
The same thing happened to my child’s pediatrician. He was choking in a restaurant, and went to the restroom, where he passed out, and somehow fell as to perform the Heimlich maneuver on himself. However he badly broke his jaw in the process. (Fair trade in my opinion)
Don't know much about the m37 but the local junkyard has one for 6500$. I haven't inspected it but suspect it's in worse shape.
I would NOT restore it, if it runs and drives; look at the current motorcycle trend. Unrestored old stuff goes for WAY more than restored. It's only original once. 2cents
This is what I ordered. I just cut the old leads off of the headlights and soldered them to the headlight socket. So when I have to change the lightbulb, it is plug and play.

Amazon.com: HELLA...
Do the H4 conversion, Buy 7" Hella reflectors, and 70/75 watt 24v lights. (i got a pakage deal from amazon) You won't be sorry, and I think there cheaper. You will also need the h4 socket, which you can solder your old headlight leads to, to make a one time job of it.
The reflectors drop...
Looks like about 23 inches. the drivers side it's the spare tire, the pass side its the fuel tank.
Seems like it would be much more difficult to lift a 6x6 and keep the articulation. The rear dogbones would have to be extended.
I'll third the 6x6 kit. It would be great to have room to put 52" tires on and still have plenty of clearance for turning, and possibly snow chains. I would think it would be best to move the rear axel back. What is your opinion?
By the way, exceptional job on the fabrication.
I had trouble with one of my lights doing something similar. One filament had burnt out and dropped down and was touching the other filament. Installed some Hella H4 and never looked back. Some guys swear by the HID kits. I haven't tried them yet. But the Hella H4 reflector is a starting point...
That is kinda cool, like a locomotive and a tank did the shag-naughty. Looks to be in good enough condition. I smell ROAD TRIP.
More pics..........................?
In my humble opinion, an A3 would make a great starting point for a camper. Granted you’re not going to get there fast, but who cares, you have your whole world with you. Cat and Allison parts are available world wide. And the platform is simple enough that a third world mechanic can fix it...
I have seen a post where they painted the camo using a light projector to put the outlines on the truck. If you had a home theater projector and a laptop this would work good.
The A3 site is a winner in my book. I don't have to sift through 10,000 cyrptic titles, like Should I do This? What size tires? Where is Frodo Baggens? etc.
Not to Hijack, but Does anyone have a steering wheel puller they would RENT to a reputable member?
FWIW, I have listed a couple of things in the classifieds for free lately, just a way of "paying it forward"
Thanks in advance.
