LOTS and LOTS of fab experience. And a lot of heavy lifting equipment. Bobbing or adding two doors is a big project.
Titling is easy in WI. But you get a limited license.
Locking a soft top is only going to keep the "kids" out. I usually "combat lock" the doors and leave a front window cracked.
Combat locked = if you pull up on the interior door handles, the door opens, if you push down, the door is locked from the outside.
In my opinion, nothing will work well with chunks that large in it. And the chunks had to come from somewhere. It certainly wasn’t built that way. It might work for 3 miles or 3000 miles but I think you will eventually have problems with it.2cents
I have read of folks removing the center...
This hose is used to direct the exhaust air from the steering circuit back to the engine air intake. If you follow where it goes you will see that it goes directly to the intake track AFTER the air filter. So if this hose is compromised, and you drive in dusty conditions, you’re ENGINE is...
I despise harbor freight, buy the real thing, support american businesses and workers, get something you can count on, and be PROUD of it. Buying cheap throw away things is part of the reason america is so indebted to china. You will never regret buying quality.
This brings to mind that I have some of the flashing taillights for bicycles/joggers. These new ones are BRIGHT. This might be a good removable, portable, cheap attention grabber. Yes you have to turn them on and off by hand but you should be doing a walk around anyhow.2cents
It does NOT have to have the front axel engaged; mine feels really stiff if I'm in drive. What works for me is to have the transmission in neutral and be just barely rolling along and then jockey the lever into high or low. It will not go when in drive. (Or at least I don't want to push that...
I just had mine rebuilt and dyno tested by an authorized allison dealer. Yours sounds like mine.
Going up, First and second smooth and fast, going to third it revs up for a second and drops into gear, same for fourth.
Coming back down fourth to third is smooth, then it drops into second and...
I ordered a 50' section from Mc master carr. It is more than enough. They have two different materials, several sizes, and colors. I think I paid .74 cents per foot.
Yes, I'm a machinist with a machine shop. I would fab these from solid, cold rolled steel, or stainless steel. To your exact specs.
Both materials have their own advantages,
Cold rolled steel will rust overnight on contact with water. But is cheap and easy to machine.
Stainless will not...
I had to buy the whole assembly, I think it was from Saturn surplus. It looked like a lot of monkey business to fit something else so I just bit the bullet.
I took mine to the local HEAVY truck tire repair shop. (Had to look around a little) they removed the wheel, tire, run flat insert, and replaced both O rings, and reassembled the whole works for around 32$ each. A bargain in my opinion.
It would have taken me hours and possibly the loss of a...
Tire chains are available by tire size. The best ones are "case hardened" they will last MUCH longer on the road. If all you can find in your price range is surplus, you can add a few chain links, (hardware store) on the side links to make them fit your tire combo. Also chains are not meant to...
I will third the H4 head light option. Once you have the reflector portion of the assembly, you can add almost any bulb you want, from35 watt to 130+ watts. I put a set on my duece and am very happy with the performance vs. price.
