I have the typical 4 pin coming from my vehicle... I would like to change to a 7 pin (I think) in order to get the auxiliary power.
My thought here is, I will have electric brakes and the break away switch. I do not believe the break away will connect into the power connector, but only to the...
Two different types of axles between the M101A and the 1 ton I have in waiting. I would imagine the breaks and all are different as well... Talkin 1969 to 2000 something...
Actually, I have a 1 Ton Frame in waiting... I'll just trade the box over to that one when the time comes. After I finish this trailer, Ill purchase 16" wheels and similar tires that will match the size of a Suburban.
Out the door it will be $580...
They call it custom axle, so starts off at 350... But, I'll go with it...
Of course Ill post pics when its done. Unfortunately that will be about three weeks from now.
Im thinking about having them re do wireing and lights on it as well... I saw here where...
I took my M101A1 to trailer shop a few days ago... It still has all original parts minus the tires.
I am having them replace the axle hubs etc..
What I will have installed:
3500 lbs axle (same diameter)
Brackets for shocks removed from old and attached to new
5 on 5 hubs to match tow vehicle...
I to am fairly new to the trailers... Its overwhelming when you are first looking at it... Think about the things you want to be able to do with it, then take a step back for a couple days. Then look at it again...
For me perhaps it was a little easier because I had just finished doing work on...
Point noted.... Has me wondering about my Tahoe now... Running 31" tires at max pressure and lot of vibration when going down dirt roads... Gonna have to let some out and see how it does.... Thanks
He has been running 30psi for about an hour... LOL..
No Bounce but thank you for your assistance guys... The Flat Tire thing was a duh moment for me...
I know it has the suggested tire pressure on the tire.
Friend of mine is on his way home with an M1101 Trailer he Just purchased from Ft Gordon.
Says the trailer is bouncing around (Not sure how much) but is asking what best pressure for an empty trailer would be for empty travel on road an...
Nah, Ill buy one of my buddies Genny Trailers (M101A3 models) and keep it until I'm ready to switch the box over. That will be if I ever get serious about a 2500 series Burban..
Till then, I'll be going with the 3500 lb Axle and the 5 on 5 lugs...
Its more ore being able to use the trailer tires as spares for the truck. If I absolutely needed to get somewhere I could forsake the trailer and come back for contents.
Guess Ill have to consider more seriously my buddy's offer...
He has two Generator Trailers and has offered me to put the M101A1's box on the A3's Frame...
Sorry, its an M101A1 trailer...
So its not just the axle that makes the difference... :C
Hitch?! Really? Cause I was thinking about changing that to a civy model... dern
I currently am looking at two options for my trailer when it comes to the axle.
Getting a 3500 lb 3" diameter axle with 5 on 5 hubs to match the wheels on my truck.
or
Getting the 5200 lb axle with 6 lugs not sure on measurement, and using 6 lug to 5 lug spacers to allow it to match the...
