I managed to switch to the TCM. Everything seems to be operating properly at this point. No TCM light or codes.
I still need to open up the original TCM to see if anything is obviously wrong. I saw on a YouTube video that members here have suggested Rock Auto for a replacement place. Does...
I really appreciate you clearing that up for me.
I was using a different post. That described a similar problem and I misread what you initially wrote. That is my mistake.

What is a reasonable price to pay for a...
I will swap the TCM between trucks this weekend. I attached the page from the tech manual that I was referring to. It states to drop the transmission pan if resistance is not found between C&D for code 73.
The first few things you guys had me try seemed to be in line with the troubleshooting...
I appreciate the support .
Maybe I am not understanding the flow of things correctly.
I believe the open / no continuity / no resistance between C and D point to the transmission, based on the resistance reading being taken at the J1 connector while it was disconnected from the TCM but still...
The cannon plug (J1) on the TCM was removed.
I don't have the test cable (J-44152) listed in the manual.
I don't have resistance between C and D. The result is an open circuit. I checked this multiple times.
Seem like the problem is pointing to the pressure control solenoid.
I appreciate all...
I am trying to understand things in more detail.
I didn't have continuity between C and D doesn't that point to an internal problem or the solenoid?
Is the removal of the TCM straight forward. I don't want to damage it by pulling the TCM from my other truck. It is also m1079a2 with the 4l80e.
Thanks for the support.
g to C have continuity
k to D have continuity
k to g 4.8 ohms
C to D shows open.
I need to drop the pan. Although the fluid looks brand new I will probably change it and the filter. Is the filter the same as the civilian vehicle filter
Is the pressure control solenoid...
This morning I removed and cleaned all of the connections to the alternator. None of them were dirty considering what most diesels' look like. The main 24v connection had a little grease built up. Everything has been cleaned and reinstalled. No change to the shifting pattern.
It seems to shift...
Thanks for the detailed response. Is there a procedure to verify the internal wiring hardness inside the transmission? Is seems like something internally isn't getting a good signal based on the way the light comes on immediately.
Sorry that it took so long to so long to respond
I have...
I appreciate the last response that gives me something else to check.
Today I removed the main harness plug going to the transmission.
It was clean no fluid in it (picture attached)
I could see a very small amount of fluid basically a drop that looked like it was on the side of the o-ring...
Another member gave me advice via PM and he mistyped the number.
Definitely learning a lot about this truck pretty quickly.
My civilian 6.5's have been pretty reliable. The most common problem was the injection pump (PMD) computer needing to be moved due to heat.
I should have many of the...
I'm currently tracing cables to the transmission relay. I believe it is a small box that is mounted to the rear of the battery box on the passenger side
Looking for 29 BT
I have found
89
290 291 537
57T
599C
I also am trying to figure out how the transmission main harness disconnects. I...
Code 73
Pressure control solenoid circuit.
Validated that all the cannon plugs are connected
Will check the ohms between g and k on the j-1 connector and report back
Thanks
I updated my signature to show this vehicle.
My transmission plug isn't a 9 pin.
Transmission light goes out when I disconnect this plug picture attached.
I'm currently under the vehicle and I don't see any cut wires or anything that's missing everything looks to in the factory location.
This...
Newb ok, I have had an account on this site dating back to the early-mid 2000s. Seems like someone has Internet courage. The type they lack in real life.
If you don't have interest in helping people then don't post. I am not going to bow down to anyone for a little guidance
Back to the...
Not really sure what made anyone jump to the conclusion that the truck was being driven on the interstate. But I really appreciate the support. This is my first humvee and I am figuring things out.
Thanks for reporting on the standard light operation
Not my first diesel or 10th 6.5.
Not an...
Is normal operation for the trans light to stay on.
This is my first Humvee.
I'm using group 65 batteries.
The factory leads were not long enough and once I installed those properly I got the transmission light. It still doesn't shift into overdrive as I believe it should.
The transmission...
