How can I tell what the best fast highway cruising speed for my m1009 is? I am planning on taking it to the mountains this week (200 MI) and I want to get there in a reasonable time, but I haven't driven many diesels and have a hard time judging rpms based on engine sounds. What is the best way...
Hey I just re-cased the tranny in my m1009 and everything went smoothly. I reinstalled it and filled her up. I put it in drive and reverse about 15 times untill it was shifting into gear strong and went for a test drive. Now it doesn't leave 1st gear unless I shift from drive to second give it...
Anybody got pics of an m1009 with a 4" lift and 33's I have 35, but when they wear out I was thinking about getting 33's as they are easier on the 10 bolts.
You should allow users to download images that others have attached to posts. I know I have had many instances where I wanted to save an image posted in a thread for future inspiration or use and have been annoyed by looking through the code to find a direct link to the image.
Thanks,
Miles
Just picked this up from a local electronics store, but the ID plates are missing. What is it and am I getting any harmful rays from the screen when it is on?
What is the circular plate that has ID numbers on it on the drivers side of the grill. I think the blackout light illuminates it. Mine is missing and I would love to find one for cheap but don't know what to search for.
I just took the top off my m1009 for the first time last weekend and got some pics of the sun setting behind it. I thought they came out good so I thought I would share them.
What do the adapters that go between the th400 and np208 go for? Mine is broke and there is a guy in town who has one, but he doesn't know what he wants for one.
Where is a good place to find what markings were on an m1009? I would like to add the military markings back to it, such as the TP - 35 PSI above the wheels, however my was repainted with the desert camo brown before being decommissioned. Also what is a good way to stencil them I don have a...
After believing my tranny was shot I just drove it again and I think it may not be the tranny. I seems to be more a case of having/not having engine power. It will be fine, but when I hit a hill or incline the motor bogs down and I have to floor it. Then it will intermittently have a burst of...
Hey I have an m1009 that has had a crack in th tranny for a few weeks, but I have been keeping the level up on the tranny. Yeasterday it all of a sudden began acting up. It doesn't like to go into second and when it does it feels like your driving with the ebrake on. If it can get going fast...
Ok so i am going to put my transmission into another case tomorrow and am thinking of what else I can do while I am under there. I plan on giving it a new front pump seal, rear crank seal, and the rear seal on tranny. When I go to get these parts what do I tell them? Can I say I need something...
My m1009 has 35's and does 1st to 2nd at 25-30 and 2nd to 3rd at 45-50. Is this high? The engine is really roaring when it shifts, but this is my first diesel. Do the 35's affect this? I heard the vacuum lines from the IP the the tranny might be dry rotted and I checked them. They look pretty...
I was shooting with a buddy yesterday and he took me to this military range that was closed after WWII. After shooting we searched for Bullets and other items left on the range after it closed. We were finding them everywhere! After about 2 hours we left with what we had picked up off the ground...
I know this has been posted before, but I didn't see a fix for my problem. I have a m1009 and the previous owner said the alternators were replaced not long before I bought the truck. When I drive a I notice the Gen 2 Light is lit. When the truck is first started the light is VERY faint, but as...
Hey,
When I purchased my m1009 it had 35" tires and a 4" lift kit. I know that running the 10 bolts with 35" tires is a bad idea so I am saving for axles. I know a guy who has a Dana 44 front end with the matching rear, not sure what the gearing is in it but he wants $400 for the set. Is that a...
