I want to add a am/fm radio to my truck. How do most people install theirs (speakers and radio)? I was going to use the stock location, but it is the wrong size. Do most people just cut it up to fit? Pics and info would be great.
Thanks,
Miles
What does the plug under the ash tray do/did? Someone told me it was called a cannon plug but wasn't sure what it was used for. Also what is it wired to?
Has anyone added a 24v winch to the front of the m1009? What are some good ones for a reasonable price? Also how do most people install them? Do they just add a receiver hitch on the front?
A friend had these laying around in his shop and gave them to me put put on my site. I have no real idea where they were used or who used them, but they are from the 50's and I believe they are a creative form of making announcements to employees. Does anyone have more info about these...
How do I take apart the turn signal/high-low beam lever on the left of the steering column? The rod that runs from the high-low beam switch under the dash is disconnected.
I plan on taking my m1009 to the mountains occasionally. Will the naturally aspirated diesel have to be adjusted in the higher elevations? If so how do I go about doing this?
Also I know this may sound dumb but is there a way to make it blow black smoke? Just to get some pics of it with smoke...
Hey,
I recently purchased a m1009 and soon discovered I had a short drive shaft. This was discovered after I broke a T-case going up a rock ledge. Anyway after fixing that I discovered the tail of the tranny is cracked and leaks. I j-b welded it, but still have a leak. When I check the fluid in...
I was working on my m1009 and had the front two tires parked on a 3" cement slab, while the rears were in the dirt. I tried to open the passengers side door, but the front quarter panel was hitting it. I figured that the way it was sitting made the body tweaked and it would work after I moved...
I have a friend who runs his f250 on a mix of filtered vegetable oil, diesel, gas, and a diesel additive. I put a little in my cucv m1009 and it seemed to run fine, although it was a little harder to start. Does anyone else run this? Concerns/Complaints about this setup. The veggie oil is...
I recently purchased a 84 cucv m1009 that has a 4" lift and 35" mud terrains on it. As far as I know everything is stock on it. Are there certain components I need to upgrade to be able to offroad this without breaking stuff. I know the rear-end is weak, but what else. I am told that the...
The key for the ignition on my blazer doesn't unlock the doors. Is there a way to tell what key code the key I use is? Also are there any common problems with the door locks I could look for?
I recently bought a cucv m1009 and when driving at night I noticed that the gen 2 light stays dimly lit at idle but when the engine is revving it goes out completely. I checked the alternators and the drivers side put out 14.3V and the passengers puts out 28.2V. The meter in the truck is in the...
Hey I took my truck off-roading today for the first time and noticed you can turn the front hubs to lock or release. I had read somewhere that I could just use the 4x4 shift in the cab to go in and out of 4x4. What does the lock/release do on the hubs? Before I noticed them they where on release...
Hello,
I just purchased a 1984 cucv m1009 blazer with a 6.2 detroit diesel. After playing with it this afternoon I have some questions. What is the switch that is depressed as the gas pedal is applied? Also when climbing hills I can here a sound that sounds like a hand crank winch being wound...
