IMO you’re in luck that they separated the water manifold / crossover and the intake part of the manifold when they designed the engine.
Just imagine having to swap out the entire intake manifold.
I would use an item called a Keensert if you need to drill it out to the next
larger size.
IMO its better than a helicoil.
It looks like this and its a solid adapter from the size you drill and tap and will repair back to the original threaded hole size...
What lift kit or spring part # / Manufacturer did you use that maintained the GVWR of the CUCV ?
I have the M1008's and M1028's that I would like to maintain the weight carrying capability of.
Here is 406 YJ's thread on Pirate4x4.
Ive been wanting to get a set of these but they are not cheap.
And I will have the wheels soon at a very reasonable cost.

I would go for one of those as well if you have extras.:?:
PM me the amount of a USPS Money order you would like to receive for one or two.
thanks
Maybe that is where the difference lies, IE mine has a 5/4 ton or M1008 CUCV 14Bolt FF in the rear.
I used these GM wheel studs but used a dually one ton front rotor that had a smaller stud hole and drilled the holes out on the CNC for the correct press fit
GM WHEEL STUDS 3988538.
If you...
A vendor on Pirate4x4 makes and sells a kit specifically for a 3/4 ton truck with 6 lug axles.
If Im not mistaken that is what a M1009 uses ?
From what I understand out of the kits he sells it would be either this one.
GM Rear Disc Brakes 10, 12, 14 bolt-Dana 60,70 and more
Or this one...
I used a AC spin on filter adapter.
And it just so happens that all of my CUCV's are made to use this adapter.
They have 3 nutserts in the firewall around the same area where the rectangular filter and its base was.
In the 2nd pic It shows the hose that goes from the adapter outlet to...
There are two problems with the standard disc brake conversion that use the 3/4 ton brake rotors and calipers.
#1 the stud holes in the common 3/4 Ton rotor (.650 OD) are too large and will result in slop with the OEM studs installed.
#2 the rotor has no register to sit on IE when its...
I thought about using an electric lock but wanted to reduce the malfunction factor as much as possable.
Do you have the part # and cost of the item you went with ?
Thanks in advance.
Hello Members of steelsoldiers.com
I’ve been collecting Military Vehicles for many years. This seems like a real interesting board to learn and share them.
I picked up this Lever lock as I converted one of my CUCV's to Disc brakes in the rear and wanted to have something to act as a...
