Who has had good luck replacing the window channel felt attached to the vent window? I have to do that, the vent window seal, and pieces between the locking mech and glass.
I still haven't done this. I scrounged and ended up swapping the good weather stripping with Knocky. My passenger side is good to go, but the drivers side window channels need replacing and the dreaded vent window. Aside from that, the entire back half and tailgate needs replaced. THAT should be...
PS- I am waiting on someone to do a write up on replacing the triangle window rubber with pictures [thumbzup]
Sooooooooo....... if you get bored :mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:
Hey guys, would it be possible to create a CUCV "How To" in the sub forums so we can post write ups in there? I would suggest that not everybody can clutter it up, but for you guys to throw articles in there that are detailed and include pictures. I was reading Top_prop's write up...
Top-prop, you the man!!!! Can we have a CUCV "How to" section and make this a sticky in there? The write up was so good and detailed. I will be doing this in the next month or so and have never done it before. I will be printing this all out and putting it in my personal reference manual...
My heart skipped a beat there for a second! I thought that was the 1008 I used at work before I retired. Looks pretty close. The only difference is the seat wasn't ripped and the tires were different. If it was I could tell you what all needs fixing
PGwaldner- How long ago did you put the red bulbs in? I am all in as long as the "red pant" doesn't start cracking off and exposing white light. I don't need red/white/and blue dash lights LOL!
No stealing around here cdnm! We help each other out all the time. Doesn't matter who "thought" of it, just that it helps fuel someone else's mind. I know I am not the first to ever do that. One of my old Platoon Sergeants did on his gear shifter in his truck.
Does anyone have pictures of a properly mounted 1009 jack? I am wanting to keep mine there under the seat and need to know what hardware I am looking for.
THANKS!
Looking at it now, I think it's my new anti-theft device! Just tie a line from the pin to the drivers door. I wonder if USAA will give me an insurance discount for that? LOL!
Thanks Craig! No, I went to the local hardware store with it (minus the fuse because I didn't want to freak people out) and found a 7/16" nut that was a hair bigger than the hole. I was going to tap it in and JB weld it, but with as much force as it took to get that nut in there, it will be...
Well, I think this brand was permatec. We will see. This time I gobbed it on and figured I could always razor a little overage if it bled any. Of course this time I put it on a hair canted, so with my luck, this will be the time it works! LOL!!
Oh well though. I can be a little OCD about the...
I imagine that I would be good for kick panels as well right? My drivers side is pretty bad and the passenger is starting. I am having a hard time finding the panel though. I know you cut the panel to match your cut, not cutting to match the panel. With that being said, do I just use some flat...
I had this idea for the last 6 months and today I got bored and finally did it! What do you think?
EDIT: I know, all that's missing is the yellow stripe. I will finish painting it once I get to Hobby Lobby this weekend.
