I have been cleaning the old stuff off with a razor blade and sand paper. I haven't been sanding the windshield though. I then have been applying the rubbing alcohol, letting it dry for 10 or so mins and then applying to both pieces and holding for a couple of mins.
The crap I used last night...
Ok, so I have been fighting with my rearview mirror the last few weeks. I have tried all sorts of different glues. I sand the glue side of the button and use an alcohol wipe for the button and glass. I then apply the glue and hold for 1 to 2 mins. I have been doing it in the morning and letting...
I too am interested in what someone fabs up. I dropped the tailgate and looked in the jam on the right and noticed some OEM holes there. I don't know, but could that be used to support and swing out spare tire rack? I am interested in doing this to achieve more bed room.
Well- got ants in the pants and toughed it out and finished bolting everything back together. No fluid leaking or problems. I am sorry for the frustrating posts, but I need it to go to work tomorrow and I get nervous when I am learning something new on my own.
All in all, everything went...
Try advance adapters, I have gotten stuff from them before. They make great products. Also- keep posting up your progress. I am interested in doing a cummins swap too.
Ok, so I called in my helper and she pushed the axles in and I FINALLY saw the clips I was looking for! For some reason, I wasn't seeing them when I pushed it in myself. ANYWAY- got both the seals changed out and was taking a break. When I went to stand up, my back caught the bottom edge of one...
Ok- I have looked and looked again at the **** manual. I CANNOT FOR THE FRIGGIN LIFE OF ME find these **** clips that hold the axle shaft in. I do EVERYTHING the manual says and tried turning the axle to expose the clips and nothing. I am stumped and pissed. I need this up and running for work...
Mine has a Miller in it. I will look at the Model number and post it up. It could of been up to the unit to order a welder for these trucks. You never know. These trucks were outfitted for different mechanics and some versions didn't use them. It just my guess. My first unit still had the 1031's...
LOL! I guess that was pretty good timing. What transmission fluid did you use? I know that on page one I was sure it wasn't an exhaust leak, but at this point, I am willing to try anything first. I just hope it's not a rod getting ready to drive me nuts.
My 1009 is on jackstands right now...
CROM-
I put the blue locktite on my TC bolts and still have a slight tick. I have noticed that it goes away after being driven around for 15 or so miles. I think it might be a small exhaust leak??? Still stumps me and others can't hear it. All my other buddys say, "Sounds like a diesel to me."...
Ok, I will have to get back on it after church tomorrow. The pin fell out while I was messing with it and now it's a little snug when it goes in all the way. I didn't screw anything up did I? I know the -34 says to MAKE SURE IT DOESN'T FALL OUT OR THE TERRORISTS WILL COME AND GET YOU (or...
Ok, I got a LAAAAAAATE start today (only had about an hour to mess with it) and I can seem to find the C-clamps. Like every military manual, it's hard as &)&$*(&$(#*#)(*( to understand what the **** they are trying to explain with taking it apart. What is the trick to getting the clamps out and...
I am going to have to use some bondo once I pull some dents on the 1009 and what not. How do I replicate the texture of the CARC without the bondo sticking out like a sore thumb?
Thanks!
