I have been out of the "lift world" for several years. I am thinking about lifting my M1008 so I can put some Humvee tires on it. I don't want to trim fenders or anything.
Who is a good lift company that will not break the bank. What else will I need? Do I need to beef up the steering box...
I use the 'ol "Guess-ta-mate" system for measuring. Has never let me down. I am a die hard Power Service guy, but am thinking about switching over to ATF for a few months to see if that's any better. Whats the ratio of ATF per gallon and what's the best/cheapest ATF to buy?
Hey Campbell- you raise a good point there brother. I think people (including myself) forget what time to yourself is like without distractions. I get more project planning done when driving my CUCV's. I guess I never looked at it that way.
I don't give a **** what anyone says, I love my CUCV's! They are fun and tough. I also have a nice '07 Dodge Ram 3500 5.9L Cummins. It's really nice and gets great fuel mileage, but I love driving the CUCV's. I loved reading a lot of the "bashers" reasons why CUCV's suck. I just laugh. If you...
Whatever happened with this? I have the exact same problem with my 1009. You can't really see the smoke during the day, but at night when someone is behind me and I have to give it gas, it's like a fog screen!
I am going to be putting locktite on the torque converter bolts today. I will see if that wraps things up. If it doesn't make it go away, then I will suspect that it is the transmission pick up. It was a little low before I did the filter change and added fluid and it didn't do it for a day...
Ditto. Why risk an accident where you can hurt/kill yourself or someone else. We walk a thin line. The govt is looking for ANY reason to take our old Mil trucks off the road. Why give them any reason that we could of avoided? If you need any help, post up and someone can give you a hand in...
I know that even if you tint the windows, it will still show. Our old one at work has tinted windows and you could see it on the back window. Good idea about the headlight scratch remover. I will give it a shot when I replace all the seals and rubber in the tailgate. I will make sure to post...
Does anyone know what is dragging on the rear window of the 1009's to cause the scratches? I have seen it on several and was wondering if there is a way to "repair" the glass and how to prevent it from starting again.
