I also replaced all my non-captive nuts on my 002 with aluminum rivnuts. That's the way they should have been built from the factory. No more trying to wrangle your hand with an open end wrench into tight areas. :naner:
What would be even sweeter, would be if you could strap a GoPro to the HET off the side to see down the side of it while its doin' work and post the video here.
Thanks Rustystud! I tried to keep it simple and utilize what i had.
And Catman393, i think you were talking about just replacing one original filter, but i replaced all three with two spin on's. Just swapping out one might be a bit tougher.
On my 002, I took the angle piece that the original filters are mounted to and flopped it and mounted the new filter bases to it and then mounted it to the same location with three male threaded rubber isolators through the top.
You will have to excuse my terrible drawing, its all i had...
Thanks, I'm going to start with it clean TAN and look at it for a few days, but might stencil it out. Still undecided. I was originally planning on building a pad for it in the corner of my yard, about 10 feet from the corner of my house, so the clean tan would look good with the tan siding of...
Thanks everyone. Yes the gauges are from JimC as well as the new decal set. Honestly, i think the gauge set is priced right for what you get considering the work that went into them to design and build them.
The DC voltage gauge was one i had for another project that i never used that just...
I thought I'd post an update on my 002a since its been a while.... I ended up doing what i usually do with projects and tore it down and built it back up. I tried to just get it running and let the CARC paint fly, but i just couldn't leave it alone. It just ran too good to let it look so...
74M, you should look at painting the flat front reflectors a flat black so there isn't so much shiny chrome on a dark flat MV. You should be able to take a smooth small foam roller and roll a few light coats on each module without affecting the actual reflector with runs. I think it would look...
Wowzers, its going to take you a few years just to make all those connections up. Good luck with that.:-D
It will be sweet though when you get it all completed.
Tim, I'm not sure what you are paying for those connectors, but if you could do without the CAT5 connection in the connector itself, you should look at a local forklift supply place, they should have all sizes of Anderson connectors or can get them and they should be pretty cheap. They have them...
I thought I'd throw an update out there... I just got the frame back from the powdercoater yesterday. Went with what they said was their flat black, but it ended up being almost a satin which is fine. I Have almost everything else blasted and primed, but it will be another week or so before I...
Yeah, as others have mentioned, you should be able to weld those cracks up as well as add more weld material over the fix welds to build up that area for extra strength since there is plenty of room to add material. I would assume its probably cast aluminum since i don't see any rust anywhere...
Mine shows MS3057-4B BENDIX 8022 on the collar the wire goes into, then the body of the 90 says ITT CANNON 10 SL.
Not sure where to get it, but searching online for MS3057-4B showed lots of places listing it.
Rustystud, after looking at specs on poly tubing, i believe you are correct. I also just realized and went and looked at my boats hydraulic steering hoses, they are poly tubing as well. Thanks for sharing that info, i would have never thought about that even though I've seen it used like that...
