Mounted the winch from my parts truck onto my deuce that is missing a rear axle.I just thought the winch was a p.i.t.a. , but the pto is really going to be fun!
I just sent my hubs out to be machined, getting rid of the splines and some extra to make sure of no contact. This will tell me if the lockouts are worth it. Or, do I just carry 2 sets in the summer and change them out if needed.
I just mounted my 16.00 R 20 michelin XL's on widened stock deuce wheels. I don't have power steering. It is doable, but forget super low speed steering, unless you want to look like popeye. I drive mine often, and have learned how to adapt. It is a noticeable difference from the 14.50 R 20's. I...
I just bought a 1967 Kaiser M35A2. It has 4 brackets in the front corners of the bed. Looks like they are designed to hold a round pipe in the 3" diameter range. They have a hinge design that would allow for reasonably quick removal of said "pipes". They are on the front wall of the bed (inside...
I flipped the hubs last night. The rear tires stick out less than an inch from the M105 bed, keep in mind ,I added 3" to the side that is now facing out. If you add a little less ,or go with a smaller tire, you should be clearly under the fenders. Also, of note, the rear tires don't have much...
Yes,the parts came today. Thank you so much for getting them out so quick. If we don't a heavy call volume tomorrow at the fire station, my deuce axles will hopefully be leak free!!!!
197th,
I was hoping we had a member that would give a little discount to fellow ss members, like you did on the items you sold me. I am not saying a huge discount,
but it would be nice to knock off the the ebay 3 or 4 % at least for not even buying on ebay. Clinto might ,I haven't talked to him...
I am taking the plunge for my bobber, going to buy lockout hubs. Does anyone know if any of our members sell them at a fair price to fellow ss members? I am leaning towards selectro, but who knows, it is not set in stone yet.
I was looking at my filter, and don't think it is OEM. It looks like a napa filter or something. The OEM filters seem to have less pleats. I did see an NOS filter on fleabay and was considering it over a napa style due to the washability. Anyone have input on the flow attributes of the stock vs...
Also noticed, while looking around under the hood, the air filter is pretty dirty. This might be magnifying the problem.
I have spent the last 30 minutes doing searches on the "best" air filter, boy what a **** storm those threads turn into!
It seems the K&N sends more air, but filters less...
Took the truck out for a little drive today, seems to be running, starting, accelerating as normal. Today the smoke looked a little more grayish?
Today was a little bit brighter of a day, it could have been the same yesterday ,but overcast skies made it look darker. I noticed it does not smoke...
The smoke is black. Does a high pressure head leak as a sign of impending failure? My IP is soaked in fuel, actually has been since I bought it, seems to be coming from the the top, where the injector lines attach. Tried to tighten the fuel lines, but they seemed fine.
