Combat Jump: Where you in 2nd / 75th or did yours come already marked?
Mine came with holes in the hood where they had one installed., passenger side, near the front (stupid location). I have one, but yet to install it. I'm not planning on putting it on the hood again though. Not sure where, yet.
Wonder how many times this subject's been broached? lol.
I have a set and love them. Had them for over a year now. Half that time, here in Arizona and my CUCV is kept outside. No fading, as of yet.
The universals fit just great, too. Even the dog likes them, lol.
Mine towing my Caddy CTS when I bought it from Portland Or to San Francisco, CA.
I typically get about 18 - 20 MPG when not hauling a bunch of crap or towing anything.
I packed it up last weekend and took it camping, that's what ;-)
P.S. We found a REALLY hard log we wanted to burn and got tired of chopping at it. We had the bright idea of rolling the CUCV on it to break it off. Well, it didn't lol.
Dropped it off at the local mechanic to install the transmission cooler. Lol. Yeah, yeah, I know. But I have 3 full-time jobs now and little time to do much myself.
First, no. The window won't rattle. Like I said, it will raise well over a 1/4"more, as I have already measured it. Even if it didn't it's extremely easy to correct it by adding a 1/4" into the channel to put the gaskets where they need to be.
Second, Bolts are easy. Get longer ones for the...
I'm not seeing where you have to cut into the FG here. Explain? It should only raise the cap about 1/4 above cab (it sits flush with it, now, of course) and the back window has at least that left that it can go up. I know this because my back seal was missing, for a while until I replaced it...
Here some pics of mine. To the guy who mentioned that he had rips that they don't hid, I put "normal" seat covers on mine, even though they weren't ripped, then put the Smitty's on top of them. You might wanna try that.
I did the same thing, but a little different. I used Gray foam pipe insulation to give it some cushion, then covered that with OD green cloth from Joanna's (lol, I know, I know) and then wrapped it with OD green Paracord.
Cleaned it out a bit to get ready to install floor covering and Tuffy Box.
Removed passenger seat (wil remove driver when I actually install the covering), removed Toughbook laptop shock mount and various other things. Rear seat was already removed for other work. May replace it with jumpseats...
