I am having a friend change my head gaskets and cylinder liners and pistons. I ended up having 3 cylinders with broken rings and my head gaskets were leaking oil. I bought 6 pistons and sleeves and when they were unwrapped I have 1 piston which does not match and I am missing 2 squirters. I am...
Thanks, I was gonna call you but I think I figured it out. I need to do few things still but the bulk of the work is done. I have it in my garage and I need to chase a few oil leaks and do my PMCS
I just started trying to put the air-o-matic steering on my truck. I received it with springs and cups out of the valve and I need to know how all of this stuff goes together. I looked at the one TM 9-2320-386-24P but it does not show the assembly of the parts. I assume maybe only one spring...
Nope, he is not. He doesn't even have the internet, I am the tech support. In these situations you not only need the internet but the capability to do the work. I went to school with my neighbor and I have known him and his dad for 20 years. Swapping the injectors is a great idea and I will do...
Ok I adjusted the valves yesterday and we started it again it does run lots better but there is still a issue . It sounds like there is a miss and when I cracked the injectors the same cylinder that had the rocker backed off appears to not affect the idle speed when I crack the injector. I...
I just went out and pulled valve cover. 1 intake valve was probably 75% backed off they all need adjusted. I was working alone so I did not check them all and it is a pain to jump down and bump engine over. Any of you gurus know where in the TM the specs/procedure are? I assume -20 ?
Its is the Cummins 250, the smoke looks like normal diesel smoke gray-ish as in unburnt fuel. Would a short video help? I'm really trying to help the guy out before he takes it to have it worked on. To me it is weird that it happened so suddenly, that's what made me think valve train.
My neighbor has a M931 (I think) and it is not running right. We did a local homecoming parade last week and his truck started to run bad on the way home. He was idling in traffic and said he heard the engine sound change. He went to take off and the truck chugged and black smoked. He made it...
This engine has sat a long time all be it indoors. It had 4 red plugs in injector holes and the 2 stuck injectors were left in. It is stuck right now but I am trying to see if it is salvageable or not. I picked it up for a good price and it has lots of useable parts on it. I will probably end up...
Can someone point me in the direction of a way to remove a stuck fuel injector? Its stuck bad and is on a LDS 427-2. I am able to turn is with some great effort after heat, a air chisel, PB blaster, WD-40, and deep creep. Its no where near coming out. I was even able to hit it wiith a slide...
Looks like i get added to the list of LDS swaps. I'm going to go pick one up Friday. I am sure it will be obvious when I get the new engine but can I run the 5 ton clutch,pp,and tob with the Deuce bell? Seems like it would be heavier duty.
I talked to Todd at the Clermont County fair today about doing some exhibition pulls at the fair this year. I was told that I could pull Friday night July 25 after the tractors. I was also told that if I could get enough interest they would consider a class for next year. So far I have 4 trucks...
I am looking for some of these connectors
I need at least 4 of them, thanks.
I also need some straps for my jerry can, my boy broke the original one.
Also I have a M998 pioneer tool rack for $30
As a refresher I have a camo soft top that needs the front slide reattached for $75(perfect other...
