    M1008 Wheel/Tire upgrade

If you're sticking with the stock HMMWV wheels you will also need 2" spacers for at least the front. There is not enough wheel offset with those wheels alone. They will hit on the inside. The other option is to buy re-centered HMMWV wheels with the new offset built in, which is highly...

    Manual Glow Plug install

Ahhh.. 3 Ohms... 60 Ohms.... Slight difference there :) I knew someone smarter than me would correct that. Thanks.

    Manual Glow Plug install

You can also check each glow plug to make sure they're working. Even new ones burn out sometimes. I recommend the AC Delco 60G's. They don't swell and get stuck like some others. You'll have to double-check me on this but I believe each plug should show 60 Ohms of resistance. You can also...

    Manual Glow Plug install

You may want to disconnect the controller card then install a switch, and check your GP relay for proper function also. If you are the only one who ever drives the truck it might just be quicker, cheaper, easier, and less hassle than trying to keep replacing the controller card.

The Glow Plugs need 12V. It's in the TM's.

Cold Start Problem - Leaking Fuel - Please Help

The temps here in arctic Minnesota have been pretty brutal during the past week, barely getting up to 0 degrees F. Highs last week were -9 F many times. I didn't have a chance to get my block heater installed before the weather turned this season. I have good batteries and new glow plugs which...

    Manual Glow Plug install

If you don't cut through the wire, only tack on a separate wire going to a switch, then it won't bypass or disable the controller card. Everything will still function as stock. The advantage is that you have a backup in case your controller card or another component in the system fails, which...

    It's TURBO TIME!!!

Well I know a turbo tends to quiet down a diesel a bit, but I am well over 110 dBC peak (slow response) now with no turbo, straight-piped, no mufflers, when measured at the pipe. Not sure how much this turbo quiets down this motor yet, but my point was also that either way, they won't let you...

    It's TURBO TIME!!!

Update: Just ordered the air filter and working on getting a pyro. Looks like I will be doing a girdle kit on this as well but those fluid dampers are SPENDY!! $400 plus for one! I would like the added insurance of having that, but I'm thinking I'm going to replace mine with a new stock one...

Found a m1009 in junk yard today

Don't forget to grab the starter. Even if it's fried you could have it rebuilt and sell it probably for more than you have into it, or have a cheap one for a spare for yourself. What about the axles???? We all know there's a market for those bad boys. Heck, while you're at it, grab the T/C...

    Digital Camo MARPAT M1008

YES! That looks awesome. Great find. I would maybe change the colors some, but that is very close to what I had envisioned. Thanks for the pic! Update: I've put this project on hold for a bit. I just got a Banks Sidewinder kit. Waiting to buy a few misc. parts and a way to hide the cash to...

    thundering M1008 3" straight piped

About a month after I bought my '08 I crawled under it with a sawz-all and hacked the mufflers off. I cut just in front of the mufflers and put on some 45 degree elbows pointed at the ground. LOVE IT! Some of my neighbors won't talk to me, others like it, say they feel safer when they hear me...

    drivers side turbo

Ha Ha. I like it. A Twin-Turbo Drag CUCV! Better hope there's no cross-wind! Throw a chute on the back. Who needs brakes anyway? The real question here is why do you want it on the wrong side?

    My M1008 ORD 4" Lift w/37's

If you order just the tires for $75/ea you won't get the run-flats. That's for just the tires. I paid more for the wheels and inserts.

    My M1008 ORD 4" Lift w/37's

Yes, the run-flats were included, already installed, mounted, balanced, ready to roll on the bead-locks. Overall I'm very happy with them. They don't do the greatest on wet, slippery roads and they're terrible on slick ice, but on anything else they're fantastic. Not too loud, and you...

    My M1008 ORD 4" Lift w/37's

Going back through this thread I realized I never posted pics of my custom drop bumper I built to keep the cops happy(er), so here ya' go. The previous owners (local Sheriff's Dept.) had installed a civvy 2" tow pack and 7-pin trailer harness with a brake controller. We notched the new...

    My M1008 ORD 4" Lift w/37's

I think I paid about $800 for 4 tires, mounted and balanced on 16.5" HMMWVV wheels with the run-flats, that's with shipping from GA to MN. If you go to my first post in this thread there's a link. I think he sells just the tires for about $75 each if you already have a set of wheels these will...
