I bought the Hobart 180, which is a great little MIG machine. However, I shure wish I'd bought the next size bigger. Yes, even though the next.size.bigger is 240 VAC. Amybody near me in NC that wants to trade?
When driving these things inter-state, you have a risk of getting in big trouble if you get caught running non-taxed fuel. (WMO) There are permit sticker and log book requirements too. Read the posts, state troopers are starting to crack down on this. I stay inside NC, have NC only fuel...
I went to the local Cat dealer here by Ft Brag. They had a guy who just retired from the motor pool. He said that all yellow engines were original and all green ones were crate replacements in the A3.
In NC you must have the Federal sticker if you drive in any state in addition to NC. If you only drive in NC, then you must have the NC state only sticker. Either one or the other. Either way, you are required to have a sticker if you have 3 axles on your truck.
I shure wish you that would bob a M35A2, and not that A3. There are lots of A2s around, but probably much less than 5000 A3s left. from the aproximate 5,500 total ever made.
Just a thought and my personal opinion. These A3s are GREAT trucks. It is really a shame to cut up such a nice and...
Years ago, I used to work at a power station. When people learned of this, they would always ask if I got free electricity. My answer was always yes, I did receive free electricity--I got all that I could carry home in a 5 gallon plastic bucket.
For my A3 in NC, I went with State Farm. It is a commercial policy with 100-300-100 liability only and strictly can not be used for any business/commercial use. No restriction on mileage or parking requirements. They charge me about $167 per six.months. That said, every state is different...
I would be really unhappy living ANYWHERE they could dictate what vehicle I could have ON MY PROPERTY!!!
If they can decide that for you, what else? No thanx.
If you just have to live there, the M37 would be.my choice. Power Wagons rock! Wouldn't mind one being in my driveway.
On my.A3,.the radiator cap mount on the expansion/head tank was poorly soldered on. So they glued it back on with JB Weld. Did it work very well? NO! Leaked like a sieve.
I didn't realize that Carnac could do an A3 number. Cool, when I get home next I will get my FRAME nnumber and send both to.Carnac for.the.history on mine.
