I doubt it, but how common is it? What is it? I pulled the primary filter off because I couldn't get anything to come out of the drain, even after sticking something in it. It had about a 1/2 or more of this stuff. Thanks.
I'm a little confused (not hard for me), does the $199.99 set have the improved sock seals?

Well, you guys have pretty much sold me on the cunifer line, (even though Audi uses it),but I'm a little concerned about over tightening it. The chart says to only tighten it 1/6 of a turn, that might be pretty hard to accurately judge on such a small fitting, potentially leaving it too lose or...
Fantastic, thank you. I didn't realize I was supposed to crank it EVERY time.
Floridianson told me to check for hydraulic lock before starting it, but I assumed it was just for that one time, because the truck had not been started in a long time.
Thank you, I just want to make sure we are talking about the same thing. I have the Napa filters, but the only thing that came with them are the gaskets for the canisters. I'm talking about this part of the base.
I'm sorry to say yes, but I probably didn't drive the truck over 100 miles during that time, and it hasn't been started in at least three years or longer, maybe five.
So it's kind of like I have discovered a new truck in the yard. I wasn't viewing the truck correctly when I first got it, but...
What is the circular recessed(milled out?) area around where the canister tube goes in, it looks like there should be some kind of rubber gasket in there?
I'm not crazy about this setup, I had to keep vacuuming rust off the filter housing base. I know it probably shouldn't have been rusty to...
I have read about those, I don't have any experience making brake lines, and intended to take them into the shop and have them make them. Is that wrong? Should I try to make them myself?
I AM replacing the steel lines and the hoses Toby, at least any that look like the front one that are obviously rusty, sorry I didn't make that clear. That's what I was referring to about the shop making the steel lines the same shape. Thanks for the info about the spring , I'll tell them I want...
Ok thanks Menaces, very useful info there, I'll try to pay attention to what's going on from now on.
It also looks like I'm going to have to replace the brake lines on the front because of rust, I was going to anyway but now it's definitely a priority because of the condition.
If I take the...
Ok thanks Rusty, it was stopped though, and the parking brake was even on. I think it may help if I shift to reverse first, but I'm not sure.
Another Edit: : I took it for a spin around the yard today, this time as long as I shift into first gear slowly it goes in without any drama, I can feel...
I bled the fuel filters and some air sputtered out. Then after starting it idled smoothly, until I touched the gas pedal revving the engine slightly. What happened?

The brakes have gone down for some reason and I haven't had a chance to look at anything yet, but did notice a leak on the inside rt.rear tire , so I guess it's another wheel cylinder . I was only going to do the master cylinder as a precautionary measure. I do intend to bleed the brakes and see...
Porkysplace your absolutely right, if I don't get the brakes right nothing else on the truck matters.
TobyS , dry rot is exactly what I'm concerned about, maybe that's why that one is cheaper. I see Big Mike advertising NEW MANUFACTURED units, not NOS ones for $105.00 shipped. My truck already...
Let me ask a rather dumb question, is there any difference between complete surplus master cylinder assemblies and rebuild kits? Personally I would prefer the whole unit and I found one on EBay for $60.00. Is the age something to take into consideration? Maybe a tan one would be newer for...
I thought it looked like it could be fabricated, it doesn't have to be an exact duplicate of the original, it only has to be able to do the same thing. Do you think you could make a jig for them?
Ok, thank you, I do regret not getting one of the later trucks.Unfortunately at the time I became aware of the M35 the trucks were starting to dry up and all of the later ones were all down in Florida and considerably more expensive too. I would suggest you contact a company in China, maybe...
