I'm not too worried about it getting stolen. I just removed the screw from the start lever and remove it and lock the steering wheel. Ppl generally steel a vehicle for a joynride (rare) or to strip it down to parts and resell. There isn't much of a market for that. My truck did originally come...
A question: Isn't the voltage regulator on our alt. the same as on most other newer M series trucks? Seems like there aren't a lot of places or ppl who sell them.
But it is a 4 speed with AC and them nice LED headlights. If a slant is what someone wanted this isnt that terrible and it gives them something to do with fixing it up. Working on my truck is now 1/4 of the fun.
Guys,
I am getting a 35.5V reading between the two batteries with the truck running and I cant adjust down the regulator any further. Tho it does properly adjust the voltage up and down as it is turned. Is this issue simply solved with a new regulator? With a new washer pump on the way I dont...
Has the 1070 been sitting long? I went to recover one which must of been sitting for months. It would start find and idle fine and even drove for about 300' then once on the road it would barely move. After about 2-3 hours of it idling and checking fluids (the trans fluid was over full) the...
I got around to working on the pump today and hooked it up to the batteries and it just sparked once I touched the final wire. I assume this means the pump simply has a short? When I tested the voltage at the batteries tho it was showing 32-34V!! So Ill have to also check the voltage regulator...
I haven't tried hooking it right to the batteries yet., so I'll do that. I did try a spare switch and it seems like I was getting the same wacky voltage reading.
When I test the two wire ends for the pump on continuity I get "004" on the multimeter. When the truck is running and I push in for the pump the numbers vary around but never get over 24v.
Can anyone help figure out the proper way to see what is the reason I have low and high wipers but when I push to wash I get no fluid and the resevior is full.
Thanks.
Hi LP, thanks for the information. Is there a certain pretreatment that I should look for to get the best results?
Also with regards to sharp corners since its a Humvee almost all of the edges are tight edges on the brush guard and bumper. Do those edges need to be filed down a bit?
I have decided to take the plunge and get the front brushguard and lower area and rear bumper and tire carrier done.
Does anyone have any parts they have had coated in a black or a mil spec black? I got one quote today to do all my parts and the parts blasting for 650.00 Seems a fair price but...
