Where are you headed to in Virginia? If you are coming in on I-81, I am a mile off exit 60. I can cook you a meal. Keep us up to date on your trip, and as has been said, stay safe.
If they are still available, and you don't mind. I would like two of the Peterbilt emblems. Yea I second the air ride seats, they are smooth compared to bouncing down the road on a rock.
Those M332 trailers looked brand new. I can't believe you cut them up. But that is just because I would like to have one. And it is your trailer, so cut away. For your uses I think plain OD would work fine. I am just partial to camo. Looks good so far.
Somewhere I read that you can keep the same key when you change the column. Something like as long as both columns have keys the lock core can swap between them. You need the key to pull the lock core. I don't know how to do it but I am sure a locksmith could do it for you.
Since I will be working all weekend, that monday for lunch would work for me. I would like to bring my truck but the pressure plate spun on the flywheel and it is pulled apart to fix it. If it is done by then I will drive it up, otherwise I will be driving my p.o.s. car.
I am a lot further south, 295 miles, but will be in Manassas working the gun show the weekend of the 10th-14th of Feb if you guys get a plan together by then.
I have a lift from somewhere (not sure), and the front sway bar is still attached to the axle. The point where it attaches to the crossmember, there are two pieces of 'C' channel steel that lower the mounts by 2". I don't know if it is some kind of special metal or just regular channel steel...
The Delineator Plates, the red and yellow squares, were only applied to European theater vehicles. Different motor vehicle laws over there. They were to mark the outer edges of military vehicles for civilians to see them more clearly. Vehicles with those spent time over seas.
I went over with 2/23 in March of '03. A lot of the stuff I was crusing around in was still green, only some were tan. The Marine Corps didn't desert camo their trucks in any other color than tan. If they had black or brown it was field expediant. But I am partial to the current Afghan army camo...
Its probably a real good thing you didn't have to back up any while towing two trailers. Having a double pivot of a short and long trailer would be **** on wheels trying to back that up. Looks like the new mod is to tow with a double trailer set-up. Glad it worked out for you.
Iowa must be a strange bird. That sticker has nothing on it for the purposes of titling. It only states the tire sizes and some general info about the truck. The vin is the only thing you should need for titling a CUCV. And maybe the weight. It is a Chevrolet Blazer or 1-ton Pickup. It has...
It may be different for our CUCV's, but most diesel motors have no issue with idling for long periods. I drive a fire engine and when we go on a call it is usually outside running the entire time. There have been times when I haven't shut it off for hours. I don't run my M1028 like that but...
This past summer I was working the 1st Battle of Manassas (Virginia) 150th anniversary. A lot of DC dignitaries showed up. It was huge. If the one you speak of is worth a darn then you will enjoy it. At the Manassas one, which was a three day event, they had fields of campsites where the...
