In Virginia, $65 title/registration fee, $25 plate fee, $10 personalized plate. Its a 1-ton truck. Nothing more need be said. It is registered up to 10k lbs.
I have seen that on Jeeps and older broncos, the norm on the rocks. It might work on an 09, having the lighter components. It might be pushing the upper springs strength on an 08/28. You would deffinately need some way to lock the side to side movement down. Maybe like a pin that is in the...
The 1101 and the 1102 are the same trailer, except the 1102 is rated for a little more wieght. Yea they don't have very much for siderails but they have the same rough floor space as an M101A3. Personally I would stick with the 101 since you can put the sides on it. The only change in...
If it has a steel (cast) case then it is probably an NP205 gear driven t-case. Which personally I think is better than the NP208 which is the standard in CUCVs. If it has a bed on it then it is either a converted M1031 or an M1028a2. I am not 100%, but it may have a Dana 70 rear or the...
Man...That looks F..in awesome. I saw the thread when you got it and liked it then. Now I can see it rolling and size comparisons to other vehicles. I am drooling...and the tunes were not bad. I would have put up some Tool though.
From my experiance and I may be wrong.. but any Chevy D60 will work. The only difference in the width is the outer hubs. A duelly would have the duelly hubs to bring the front width to match the rear. To use a dually D60, all you would have to do is obtain some standard width hubs and swap...
The only time you would need to back up is after you shift back into 2hi and have un-locked the hubs. This removes pressure on the clutch discs/teeth in the hub. They will unlock by themselves if you do not back up, but it just makes sure that the front hubs have released. This is done to...
I have 2 PIAA 110 watt (each) lights mounted same height as headlights but inboard on brush guard and then 2 Hella 100 watt (each) amber fog lights mounted under the bumper in existing holes. It provides a lot of light in the country where there are no street lamps to illuminate the road. When...
Several memebers have gotten trailers and modified them or re-hashed them to work as needed. I do not think anyone would care either way what you chose to do. To make it fit sounds like the best for you. As has been stated, its yours...do what you want. So I again say modify it to suit.
Thanks fellas, I will try the hub pull and see what happens. I was using an impact gun after soaking in WD40. The studs will turn by hand. So I may need to use the dab of weld to hold the stud, or some serious vice grips..
So I got two M101A3's from Meade and they look great. I got them home and started to clean them off, lube if needed and general PMs. I wanted to pull off the wheels and put others on, for looks. One went smoothly, the other I notice that on one side most of the wheel studs are spinning and I...
I have thought about contacting Susquehanna Motor Sports: Susquehanna MotorSports - Auto Performance Product
The kit is a direct replacement for the 6054 headlights. I think you would be ok with that. Then if you wanted some real bright lights you could get the 85w/110w bulbs.
I don't have a heavy truck yet...but I want one...or more. And when I do I want to bob one of them. I was thinking a tractor as the starting point, they are shorter to start with than the bed trucks. This looks like a really thought out beginning to a great build. I can't wait to see the end...
I have a 6.5 turbo on mine. You will need to move the #2 battery, I have both of mine on the front platform. The collection pipe from the driver side exhaust connects to the passenger with a cross over pipe run under the transmission and up. The down and out pipe from the turbo runs just aft...
Metal screens would protect the lights from branches but they don't count to hide the lights for on-road use. I was just thinking that the Police don't bother covered lights on the road here in VA. I have forgotten to put the covers on mine and I have been pulled before and asked about them...
Virginia has similiar laws regarding lighitng. Just get some covers for the lights and that should settle the issue of too many lights. Also it will protect them from debris getting kicked up and breaking the lenses while on the highway.
Un-related...why do you have your bumper upside down?
I did flip them. Wrapped a tow strap around the axle, out the back and hooked to the fork lift, minus forks. Had them lift slow and it lifted right up. Once the lunette was mostly up I flipped the trailer and walked it over to the one hooked to my truck. Had them lower it right onto the...
