A turbo worth the hassle on these?

How to turbo a 6.2 using 6.5 parts

I picked up a complete 1994 6.5L TD with 3" stainless exhaust, 6 month old electric lift pump, brand new 12v starter, etc etc for $750. Its got a blown head gasket, i plan to use the turbo set up and sell what I'm not going to use.. (starter, 6.5L IP, block and heads if good) to recoup some of...

    GP or maybe fuel issue?

Its fixed! Not sure if it was the glow plugs not cycling when warm or the spin on fuel filter i just put on, but it starts warm, cold, hot or anything in between. Now, when i get my alternator kit in and get that working it will be DD ready :) then time for the lift and 37's! Thanks guys!

Brand new 850 CCA batteries, brand new terminals, all wiring has been cleaned and greased, tested glow plugs all are 1.4 OHM and all get 10.5-12V while WAIT light is on, 12V resistor bypass, new solenoid, GP temp sender on order, driver side alternator is working (got one from autozone)...

    GP or maybe fuel issue?

awesome. i don't think my IP is going bad, i see no fuel leaking, it holds idle strong, and has power like it should, runs smoothly and doesn't smoke much after a few seconds after start up. there is 28k miles on this truck, i don't know if that's good or bad yet though. who knows how long...

    GP or maybe fuel issue?

I didn't know about the check valve on top of the IP, ill pull it and check/clean it when i get home tonight. Last night I installed my spin on filter and pulled the GP temp sender from the engine, plugged the hole, and just left it lay on top of the motor plugged in. I planned on driving it...

    GP or maybe fuel issue?

looks like im going to replace the temp sensor and see what happens, then ill do the glow plugs. I dont know how old they actually are, but i guess they could be an issue. I did test for continuity from the glow plug wire ends to the bottom wire of the solenoid all all tested fine. I tested...

    GP or maybe fuel issue?

Well, I'm stumped again. My 09 is having a warm starting issue. Yesterday I got home from work and tried to start it, my glow plugs cycled and it cranked for about 5-10 sec and it fired up. I drove it the the car wash and around a little bit then brought it back home. It got up to operating...

What do your neighbors and other drivers think of your CUCV

My one neighbor HATES me with a passion. My cucv brings his property value down, there is too much mud in my drive way, i own too many vehicles, my cars are too loud, they are too stinky, the smoke too much, my dog always ****s in his yard even though shes never in his yard and my yard is...

    Charging issue (i searched)

I knew i had everything tested right... took the "new" alternator and had it tested. FAIL went to buy another one (i really needed this to run) and had it tested, FAIL... they gave me my money back, money for the core charge, and i got to keep on of the junk alternators for all the hassle. I...

    Charging issue (i searched)

two questions regarding the charge circuit. where does the wire go coming off of the gen 2 relay leading off of the paper and what is the "slave receptacle"?

    Charging issue (i searched)

seems like all of my fuseable links are working or i wouldn't be getting voltages to the alternator like i am. the gen lights both work, so that makes me believe the relay is good, im not sure where the DIODE is, but it must be ok because im getting voltage at the exciter wire #1 on GEN 1. i...

    Charging issue (i searched)

i cleaned all those wires up two days ago and greased them up good, they were pretty nasty. If there was a fusible link in that wire that goes to the 12v block by the master cyl, wouldnt i still be getting my 14.4V or so right at the alternator if the exciter wires are working?

    Charging issue (i searched)

i may be new to the CUCV, but I'm not about to go tossing parts around with out knowing what i am doing first. I found that one thread that said how to test the truck wiring and it seems like my truck is working fine, problem is in the alternators. but it cant be, the two that were on it were...
