    Horn problems

My horn hasn't worked since I got my deuce. I have traced air and electrical lines - everything seemed ok. Just yesterday the horn seemed to work for about 1/4 of a second when I hit the horn button, then quit (there was a sound, a definite horn sound but not loud and then nothing). I...

    springer seats

Sounds like I need one of those. My 6' 4", 250 lb. frame doesn't mesh well with the stock springer seat! Not to mention no legroom at all. That little doohickey in the front that turns (cranks around) - is that supposed to adjust the springiness of the seat - or resistance to it? I've turned...

    Quick, Cheap Glad Hand Inflator

That's great, guys. Thanks for taking the time to explain it! I'm fairly mechanically inclined, and I know my way around a race car pretty well, but these trucks are still very new to me (I've had mine only a month, and have only had a chance to drive it 3 times). NAPA and Ace are close to...

    Fall Camp Dirtbag

Ah, yes, of course... forgive me, I am learning a new language here. Politically correct linguistics has never been one of my strong points. We do have it pretty good here in AZ with regard to 2nd Amendment rights, and I take full advantage of them. 8)

    Quick, Cheap Glad Hand Inflator

Sorry to post a stupid question (yes, I am still a NOOB). But where can I get a glad hand to make one of those thingamajigs? I really want access to air via the rear glad hands but have no idea what I need to get, where to get it or how the connectors work. Thanks!

    Fall Camp Dirtbag

I just heard about this big shindig from DUG via a PM he sent about his tires. (DUG - consider those sold! I sent you a PM to your e-mail). Sounds like fun! [thumbzup] Probably can't go though, as I might have "special duty" that weekend (and no, you DON'T want to know what that is... it...

Soon to be mine, what do you think?

Fine lookin' truck! Super clean! Congrats! Bummer that you now have to wait 2 months to bring her home!

    Lugs OVERTIGHTENED

I may take flak over this suggestion/question... but here goes... Does anyone think that one of these torque multipliers would be any good for Deuce lugs? Its only 1/2" drive, and it looks a bit weak for large lugs. (After reading the reviews on HF, I think it wouldn't stand up to heavy duty...

    Lugs OVERTIGHTENED

On race cars we use an anti-seize compound specifically designed for lug nuts. It has saved our lug nuts from being stripped since they are on and off so much. I would think this would be perfect for the big lugs on the Deuce.

    Just bought my first DEUCE!

Nice trucks! And welcome to the fraternity! Good idea to truck them and then check them out prior to driving them.

    Extreme Expedition Vehicle

Thanks for sharing your incredible vehicle! Boy, am I in trouble now, Lisa. I showed all of the pics of your awesome rig to my wife. Now she WANTS one! Maybe that means I get to buy another Deuce???!!! :jumpin: How long did the entire build take you from start to...

    run ins with law enforcement

I hadn't even had my Deuce a week when I actually got HELP from a local sheriff's deputy. I was on my way to get the emissions check (a REQUIREMENT if you live in Maricopa County, Arizona), even before I had gotten a state title or registration (still didn't even have a plate on it). I...

    My just purchased Deuce!

:-P Maybe... I guess we will never know... :-P  But you're so close to Dave in Santa Clarita and also Steve in San Clemente that I am sure that you will find a good one for a decent price there. Bummer that Cali requires a CDL though (at least that is my understanding).

    Deuce for every day driver?

No way I would use my MV as a daily driver. Loud, bumpy, dirty, no heat or a/c, no radio. Plus the lousy fuel mileage and high wear on tires. However, as a TEOTWAWKI, zombie escape vehicle, I can't think of a better one (especially if you only have $5K to spend). I chose the M35A2...

    Steering wheel deterioration?

Hey guys, One other thing that I noticed about my steering wheel (besides it being dirty as heck and cracked on all three spokes) was that it made my hands (or anything else that it touched) black as night. It seems that the material is basically disintegrating. I recall reading somewhere...

    My just purchased Deuce!

That's a great tip, RAYZER - thanks! I won't get to work on the truck until probably Sunday, but that will be the first thing that I try.

    My just purchased Deuce!

Bummer, blisters. I was surprised when it went for that cheap. I noticed that almost all of the M35s that Dave has posted on ebay since then have all started at over $4000. Dave is a nice guy. Even got a few free shirts and a hat from him!

    My just purchased Deuce!

I'll have to assume that you're talking about the steering wheel spoke cracks and not the tires! LOL!!!

    The Deuce A2 or A3?

The reasons that I bought an A2 and not an A3? First, cost. Usually an A3 is newer and costs more. If that is not a barrier for you, so be it. Second, I like the idea of the multi-fuel engine (instead of "only" diesel). The most important reason for me? The A2 I consider to be EMP proof...

    My just purchased Deuce!

Hello all, I am the proud owner of a 1970 M35A2C with a D turbo, full bows and cover, less than 140 hours on the engine at the time of pickup (51K miles though). I drove it back from Santa Clarita, CA to my home in Arizona. Let me tell you, 400 miles (it took about 10 hours), in a hot, dirty...
