Hi All,
Decades ago (yes, really decades) I was given the box pictured below by a guy who was selling a lot of disassembled WWII MV's (command cars, jeeps and WC series trucks). He had had plans to restore them but marriage, kids, and general life and growing up redirected his focus and...
Rooting around in my storage unit the other day I came across a winter grill cover for a post WWII CCKW. The part number on the cover is 7720766. It is not "new". It will need some cleaning and new buckles and straps, but the cover itself is solid and not full of rot. I've stored this for over...
Hi All,
I've researched the archived threads and found the ones covering this subject back in 2008, 9 and 11 but they were all for Deuces. I was wondering if there is any more recent information on these blankets and covers for the M-37.
I was digging through my storage unit the other day...
I will gladly send you the lists of what I have and what I need. The problem I have right now is that I don't really know yet what is "surplus" to what I'm trying to put together. I think I have a bunch of extra headsets, speakers, mounts, and control boxes. I need a couple of R/T's, R's and...
I can send you a list of what I have and pictures if you want. I've also got a list of what I think I need. I got a list of manuals too, if that is of any interest to you.
PM me with an email if you want to see the lists and / or photos.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated...
That sort of sounds like me. I've had my General ticket for a couple of years and have never used it. I got it to play with the green radios (Old Family Radios - tactical) that I acquired about 30 years ago (wow, has it been that long ago?!) and I am just now starting to gather them up...
No, Mike, I haven't. I didn't even know they existed. What is Delphi? Can I get to the boat anchor archives just by goggling them?
Thanks for the pointers!

I'm fairly new to SS and I was wondering if there are any Hams in the Puget Sound area (Washington State) who are knowledgeable or interested in the Old Family green radios?
I have a mixed bunch of radio gear that I would like to put together into the GRC-3, -5 & -7 family for my M-42 and...
I put one on my M101A1 on the tailgate just like my truck (M-42). It is handy to have two sets of tools.
The canvas cover on the trailer can either go behind the rack if you use spacers or over the rack with mybe some longer tie downs, if needed.
Congratulations, Milbikes! Sounds like it "was meant to be".
Look forward to seeing pics of your new truck. I know M-37's work great for carrying bikes (once you get them into the bed).
Thanks! It's not quite done yet. I still need to get the markings done and get all the canvas on and the radios in. The trailer is not quite done yet either.
Well, originally I got them (the combat wheels) because I liked "the look" of them on my truck. I also convinced myself that I would be...
I seems overwhelming sometimes and progress seems slow, but all the little bits of progress add up. The M-37 always seemed so easy to restore compared to Deuces and 5 tons........ :?
Here's a couple of pics of my truck with the combat wheels. You can see the bolts (actually the nuts) around the outer edge.
As for their value, that is entirely in the eyes of the beholder. Some people like them whether they are "correct" or not. Some people just don't care for them. I like...
They went out of business in the early 1980's. I used to get stuff from them all the time. I think the owner died or retired (I'm thinking died because he was one of those who never "retires")
It had lots of stuff. I'd been going there since the early 1970's.
If you have the primer pump handle in the cab, a single nice pump of that will start right up while you push the starter.
That primer system is very nice in the winter.
Sorry all,
I got confused by a couple of photos I was looking at, and I mistakenly thought the standard shackle forging at the back of the bed behind the bumperette was an additional part of the Marine Corp lifting shackle set up. Apparently I just need 1 more shackle.
Sorry for the confusion...
