If thoughts of theft are that much of a concern, why not drop a fuel-pod out there, fill with water. They are already set up for pad-locks on the filling hatch, and when full... nobody without a crane is going to be moving it.

... and the A2's were more commonly upgraded with the rear landing leg, I seldom saw an A1 with one. (not to say they don't exist, just never saw one with my own eyes.)

I was only there for transition and "training" which was worthless. Arrived early Dec '03 and left 12 days later. Once I got to Baghdad, I was out of Muleskinner. The soft-skinned were all grounded to the FOB, and I traded up to an 1114, then another, and one last one till I headed home.
