Looks like on their website they only offer np205 & np208 for the th400... Drastic drive line modification might just be a new transfer case....
Guess it comes down to money, and if a standalone 4l80e is any cheaper....
That's your only way to schedule the pick up... Get the lot rep's number from the general hotline so you don't get fed old hours, BS, and keep messing around with the actual hotline... took two weeks to schedule the pick up for mine... 4 hour window once a week, which turned into a 4 hour window...
Hahaha that's funny...
I'm pretty sure it says it on the side of the bottles when you go to Wal-Mart to buy the oil... "Compatible with xXxX"
The real question is why are you going to mess around with a leak when you have a drain plug and easy access? Prolly 20 mins if you don't fiddle with...
^^
to expand the regular 30W is same viscosity at all temp ranges. They make it 40w, 50w, and up. In some older standard gear boxes actually call for straight 50w...
Basic principles of in hot climate you use heavier oil, and cooler lighter oil viscosity.
65 grand it not that bad of a deal considering the truck. IIRC The Dodge 2500 laramie is almost 60....
Let a lone 30 y/o beat to **** GP hmmwv's that are 10-15k.
Considering they only used soft top hmmwv for the very first part I would highly doubt those hit DRMO. My truck is a tan NTC truck from Ft. Irwin. I would assume the rest are training trucks as well.
Smoke... Large particulate matter smoke. Either grey or black. Grey worse then black in diesels.
Since you indicated that your truck does not smoke, it would be reasonable to deduct that you're just not used to a diesel without emissions equipment.... Remember these engines are not epa...
What you smell is all the NOx from high heat combustion.
I will second "not used to older diesels".
If it really bothers you, you can run a cat, DPF, SCR, and make it more clean then those dirty Volkswagen TDI's! ach
