You should get puffs of white smoke which is the unburnt diesel, that is if you have fuel. If it was ran dry you'll have to bleed the injectors. I would charge up your batteries, and not try to jump start it.

I would worry about getting it running first IMHO. Fuel tank exposed to the elements. Ie. more then likely water contaminated, and rust... Hopefully no one ran it like that, and the filter caught everything.

^^ I have bought many trucks with leaking IP's that have been leaking for years and 1,000's of miles. However, the chemie term; like dissolves like applies. Will swell rubber parts. Make sure you replace the rubber fuel line that is rated for diesel. They are not all made the same.

I do it that way, works better on my truck compared to the TM procedure. I also jack up the front end, but do not wait as long in between full lock. Just enough time to look in the res to confirm it's not sucking air.

Walmart carries dex III for around 2.70$ quart. Most of the stuff that is dex III will say it small print on the back of the bottle.
