my m38a1 has a solidstate regulator so the amp meter does not work.i ordered a 24 volt batrt gen guage so what is the best way to install it.can i go to #27 and a good ground?is it that easy?any suggestions.snd what do i do with 8 and 9 wires from th ampmeter,
i suspect a bad coil .got a primary reading of 11.9 and a HT of 9,500 .does that sound like it is in tolerance .should'nt the primary be lower than that like arounf 1.2.I tested the primary on the 200 range on the meter.and the HT seams low also.any thoughts ?
i understand that if u want to change out the condensor u have to take out the plate over the distributor,i see 2 screws that hold it together .dont want to mess anything up if i do this.to get to the screw that holds the condensor it looks like this is a must.my question is is this an easy task?

have a54 m38 a1 took off the cover of the voltage regulater and was supprised to find resistors capacitors and transisters ,in the base,when did they go to solid state regs.how do they stand up against the older type?
My M38A1 has a new motor and has been running fine. Went to start it to move and it got to oil pressure then sputtered for a few seconds and died and wont start, turns over acts like it wants to but wont start, any help out there?
