What does the exhaust smell like? Does it smell sweet (rich) of diesel or is it burning your eyes? This is an indicator of it running rich or to lean.
Next with the engine off take the air filter off check your injection pump (IP). Look at the were the fuel pump bolts to the crank case (three...
Well the Controller is new and it is the legacy from C.E.
I also ordered two temp sensors but I have a question.
I have two sensors one on the front of the block Dside and one on the rear drivers side. Both are located close to the glow plugs. What are these sensors called?
I believe...
Gman, thank you. Makes sense now. Now I know what the fitting on top of the double piston was haha. I will get this working : ) Thank you for your help, I appreciate it. I am surprised that the old compressor lasted this long pumping all the time.
Hey don, thank you for getting back to me on this. That makes sense. I do not want to ever go through water that deep unless I have another Deuce or bigger with me, so lets just say around these parts I am the only one with a deuce.
So based on this I wander if I can just cap it off for now...
Ok I am now to the point where all I have left is receive gaskets, install pulley, and find out what the side area is.
On my old pump (double piston) I only had 1 copper line which is the "Air out", on the top of the pump their is something that looks like valves, "spring and rod" but nothing...
Scratch that... Took a large wrench and hammered it in between the rear of the pulley, then tapped the inner shaft, heated it, some aviation lube and a little sledge hammer : ) double tap and its now soaking in jasco.
Interesting. For two years everything was ok with the double piston pump lol BUT a few months ago the relief valve started blowing at 60 PSI, breaks still felt strong but I had half the air. I ordered a new relief valve from boyce and am waiting on it.
I will need someone to show me a vid or...
I am not sure. This is why I didnt want to go with the single haha ;) I am in the garage looking at my TMs and nothing. Been at it for an hour already.
Should it be some sort of governer I wonder if I can cap this with a piece of metal and a gasket???
Hopefully someone with this single pump...
lol ok guys were all good. I am going with the airbrake hose/tube.
Also from my experince last deer season in the mountains I am still running the water line I used to replace the pre existing line, I think it was the same stuff but just on their too long.
The reason it went on me was...
This helps a lot. As far as the proper tubing. Last year I had to field repair each fuel line so I will ensure to have this on before my trip on the 19th. Thanks dude.
Thanks for the info on that. I figured it would push more air faster it just looked old. Then I thought to myself if I have a "never used" part and I am going through all this work I may as well use it.
What is supposed to go in this area I am pointing at. Nothing on the double piston compressor I pulled has this hole on it.
Also something weird, then I peeked into the hole I saw what looked like bubble gum. I poked my flat head driver in and it feels like grease. Does not smell petroleum based.
Ok, good advice. After running around I am back to the compressor again. Did you take yours apart or just replace the two gaskets? I want to take mine apart to replace all the gaskets and realize that it would be nice to have a gasket set. I have been google"ing" midland for something.
Ok. I didnt end up buying any PEX tubing, I didnt like it. For now I bought a role of the plastic water line (only for a repair if im in a pinch.) The closest place that sells the air brake line is about a half hour drive each way.
Before I make that trip I am wondering what the OEM product...
