Nice Truck. I bid on that one! ....actually I low-ball bid on about 39 of those, but when it came to serious bidding, the wife was watching at the end of the auction so I didn't get my second M1009 that day. I got my truck about 6 weeks ago. The EUC took about 75 calender days. As far as...

    CUCV 2 on GL

Saw that one, looks like it needs more than a bit of work under the hood and on the dash. Somebody has a project on their hands. I was hoping that the HMMWV with the turret, parked next to the CUCV2, was also listed. Hey, I can dream can't I?

    Pressure wash M1008 engine compartment

I pressure washed mine last week. It was mostly dried on mud all up in the engine compartment all over just about everything. I was careful not to soak some of the electrical parts, or the air intake:roll:. But I figured for the most part it went on it wet I can get it off by getting it wet...

For M1009s "Blazer Diesel" works well, you will get a few civilian ones come up, though. Not everyone uses "M1009" or "CUCV" in their ads but almost all will have the words "Blazer" and "diesel" in them. Also, to expand your search on Craigslist checkout Crazedlist.org, you can search the...

    How Risky Is This?

I just realized you are in Cornville, I'm over the hill in Prescott. In fact I was just up on top of Mingus Mountain today watching a guy hang glide off the mountain toward your neighborhood. There is a M1009 that has been advertised for a few months nearby your area you might check out. I...

    How Risky Is This?

Mine was listed as driven on to lot. I had it picked up by a towing company and taken to a Chevy dealership where it had an oil change and an inspection done. The only thing wrong with it was the belts were a little loose and I had them fix that. At that point I considered driving it home...

Question about Picking up my trailers

The ID and insurance is for getting in the front gate and driving on the military facility, should not be an issue for the trailers.

I Finally Got My M1009 Today!

Already done. Now it makes that snap as I start it. Having lots of fun with it. My 2 year old even drags me out to give him a ride in it daily. Almost bought another one today from Ft Sill.

I Finally Got My M1009 Today!

It actually works. I used Easy-Off. I have a little more work to do but now it says LSB-120 on my front bumper and I have no idea what it means.

    Fire extenguisher size?

I just installed one last night. My truck did not come with a bracket mounted up front, but it does have what looks to be a little one on the left rear wheel well that I probably will remove. I looked at Wallyworld and Home Depot and didn't like the little ones with the plastic mounts, so I...

    CUCV ACC Position

It's there on mine, just not labeled as such. Just turn the ignition switch back a click, with the key in it of course, may have to wiggle the steering wheel if it is locked.

You've got a wife that wants a M1009 for herself! She's a keeper.[thumbzup] I got my M1009 from GL for $2500. You also need to figure in the 10% auction fee and any state sales tax, along with transport costs if you are having it shipped to you vs. picking it up yourself. I bought mine...

I Finally Got My M1009 Today!

After much anticipation, I received my M1009 this morning. I bought it from Ft. McCoy, WI back in May. I had not previewed it and took my chances with the GL description and pictures, and it turns out they were fairly accurate. It was described as "Driven onto lot." Not knowing it's...

    doghead starter relay modifcation

And how log will it take for the EUC to clear for that? My M1009 is arriving Friday (yeah!) and thanks to this site, the starter relay replacement will be one of the first things I do to it...already have the parts on the way. I was thinking that while I'm in there also maybe putting...
