I live in the NW so I can find many. Hunting, camping, hauling wood, and even bobbed a deuce can out haul and pull any full sized truck off road. W/Winch you can make money unsticking people. I can show you a way to build a hoist to lift those logs. I'm lucky my wife wants me to buy a deuce.
The deuce and a half is the off road (safe load rating), it's highway rating (safe load rating) is five. If your using the deuce front spring, two tons should not be a problem.
Thank you Spicergear it's nice to know someone knows I'm not stupid besides me!:-D TM for M35a2 says 9/16 cable dose fit. While I was in the Army. I was tout by my chief mechanic to use 210 ft. of cable, anchor the cable on a hill, and hook it into the winch. Then release brakes to take...
The tree is the anchor. Yes I understand that math and engineering say it can not be done. People said I could not put a 2.2 liter Nissan diesel engine in an 86 Nissan hard body. drive train is original to truck.
I had hard ground and a tree to anchor to, and when your using a winch to do recovery you let the winch do the work. I do remember the red clay in Campbell it's less forgiving the the mud in Korea
This was while I was in the army. I ordered the cable myself. I will not put second hand junk on my truck, and yes you are correct. (The proper line for the winch is "6x19" (that is six fat ones made up from 19 small ones). Its plow steel and has abraison resistance/rope core.) The technical...
Guys even the right cable used properly can brake. I had a three month old cable that I myself spooled onto the winch barrel snap the first time I used it to recover a hemmt. Before you say I over loaded the cable I had three turns in the cable. Witch is to say I had a single pulley and a...
That i know first hand I drove enough of them in the army. I was a 88m I know a lot but I'm no "EXPERT"... I must be crazy for still wanting to drive one.
guide line
My chief mechanic gave me this guide line to go by. If has a tag it most likely has been rebuilt. He also said to look for silver triangle tags. If there was one coat of new paint that was best, because third shop or civilians did it. Six years as an 88M (truck driver) in the...
