Ok. Jeep ran good all day, decided to put it into 4 low and put around in a field next to my house. Went 100 feet smelled gas  and the engine died at the same time. I popped the hood and the passenger side of the engine is covered in gas. Seems to be leaking from under the carter carb. So...
Update! replaced the original coil with a accel super coil, so far so good! the old coil was king of hot after running for about 5 miles. all the grounding straps are back on. Not crazy about the placement of the coil and resister, but hey the work was done for free. So if it stays good it will...
Thought of the coil also. going to buy a new one, But this will be the 3rd one for the same reason. Kind of wondering if the voltage reagulator was wired up wrong. and why the coil keeps going out? I,ll see what i can figure out this weekend and keep ya,ll posted.
Thanks for the info!
I need some help on this one! I have a 64 cj-5, i know its not military but i figured you guys would know some thing about this.
The jeep has a rebuilt motor in it ( runs great) after about 15 miles it just stops! (no electrical to the engine) and it wont start back up. I have had it in the...
Bought a engine oil cooler from Derale performance, got tired of the OEM oil cooler lines leaking and trying to find the right parts that are not made china! had a hard time looking for the right place to mount it. But i need to wire up the thermostat and it should be good to go!
took the 1009 out to stretch her legs and see how the 700r4 does, We had a little cucv convoy up to glennville for lunch. Only problem was marcs 1009 battery hold down top lost the bolts and the + battery cable tried to melt through the metal. All in all, a good day. The tranny didnt skip a...
Update on the 700r4.............RUNNING GREAT!!!!!!!!!! need to get the 33,s on her. Now if i can just remember to keep my foot out of it i might get my feul milage back. by the way any one need a th400 with trans case just 29,000 miles on it but it needs the valve body cleaned up!
Got the solargizer on, just need to clean up the wiring. And got the 700r4 in the cucv. MAN what a difference! I can now cruise the freeway and not have to worry about IEDing the motor. I,ll see about posting some pics of it.:driver:rofl
I,m going to drop the trans pan and check the o-ring on the pick up tube. i have a feeling its not getting enough pressure to shift into second gear. but then again i,m not a trans expert. but i,ll also check the governor assembly.
I went ahead and changed the V.P. seemed to work for a bit then back to stuck in 1st gear. So i,m going to check on the shift controller. and replace the rubber lines while i,m at it. if it is the trans. then i might as well look for a 700r4 and replace it. i,ll let you guys know what happens
Thats what i,m going to do this weekend. Went ahead and orderd a new vacume pump, i figured its been sitting more than its been drove.(85 with only 28,000 miles on it)
changed the trans fluid and filter 3 months ago and has been shifting good. last night driving home i stopped and took off and it wont change out of first gear. checked the rubber and the metal tube. Looks fine, fluids good. this morning got in it and took it for a spin, shifted fine! stopped...
Glad it helps! But i got the M-1009 in the shop getting the rear main seal fixed. As soon as its out name the time and place. Just got the new lift on her and i have been itchen to get her off road!!!!!!!!!
The hydraulic lines to the rear of the truck are for raising the rear SPARKS rollers for when you back the truck up. the roller system is a free turning system in the rear so you have to raise it to back up. The front system is hydraulic controlled also (side to side) so you can go around...
Well i,m going to start taking a sm465/205 combo out of a donner 76 blazer and do a transplant in the mil. blazer. Nothing wrong with the auto trany but after taking it up into the mountians the 465 will do better than the auto. as soon as the auto is out i,m going to sell it if anyone is...
Got the green bugger back from the shop. Had them put on a pro-comp 4" lift with 52" springs in back and longer brake lines. seem to ride a little stiffer than stock but not to bad! and yes i will post pics in the morning! [thumbzup]
