this is the only pic i could find of the head (wish mine was this clean) but its the little round freeze plugs under the intake runner opening.

Cant get a pic of it with out the intake off.

Ok guys (and gals) got a coolant leak from the passenger side head. It looks to be comming from below the pass. side front intake runner. and it looks to be a very small freeze plug? i have searched the internet (no joy) and gone to the parts stores and no one has seen or heard of a freeze plug...

well i was going to replace the engine oil cooler lines. and noticed radiator fluid comming from the back of the engine block. the passenger side of the valley is wet with radiator fluid so now i have to replace the head gaskets aua But i love this CUCV!

I have had problems with the stock fuel filter rubber gaskets rolling when i put the filter on. so installed a stock civy 6.2 spin on fuel filter and all my filter probs disapered :D

Had the rebuilt alt. tested, still bad. Makes me think all they did was clean it up. but a 108 amp is only $99 at the parts store. Thinking i might flip the bill for that one!:?

Ok so the #2 alt. went bad pulled both off to get rebuilt. put them both on the 09 today started it back up and no problems! until i took it for a drive, as soon as i got to about 45 mph the gen #2 lite came on (dim) and the charge droped. as soon as the alt cools it charges again until it warms...

pulled out both alternators today the #2 went bad and decided to get them both rebuilt. And change out the old fuel filter(bad air leak after replacing it) With a spin on filter( it was free off a 85 6.2 diesel blazer):beer:

Repacked the front bearings today. The hubs still run hot. are they supposed to do that?

Finally got by bridge plate on.(just need to change the "C" for a "D" for my call sign)

Offically gave the new fuel filter the bird! ordering the racor 400 series fuel filter:razz:

Changed the glow plugs to 60g, not much of a difference. then i made the mistake of changing the fuel filter that was at 10:00 its now 1:00 and still after trying to charge the filter there is still no fuel in it! and the cucv had a brand new lift pump put on it 500 miles ago. Hopefully some...

the top mount is stock. the bottom is the one i had fabbed. also on the lower mount there is a curved piece of steel inside for the outside to bolt into for strength.(note) the top mount was a MFer to get bolted on! The lower mount was about $70 to have made

The tire carrier is from my old 72 blazer. had a guy refab the lower mount .i will post some pics soon. need to get some other things for it to fit right

Did the doghead strarter fix, K&N air filter changed the engine oil (delo 400 15-40) engine is realy quiet now started on a swing out tire carrier changed out the winston/cooper tires(tire guy said they stopped making them in 2000. that explaines the side tire blow out at 60mph) going to repack...

I have heard that the heads on the early 6.2,s were weak and wont hold the pressure of the turbo
