Its a differential lock. Both rear wheels spin when you loose traction.
As compared to an open differential that only one tire spins when you loose traction.
bshupe- what happened was not enough amperage to turn the starter fast enough. Therefore the solenoid welded its contacts until it was 1 piece. there was a large load on the starter and not enough amperage. I think its something like low amperage and high voltage causes alot of heat. I might...
Tried to install the column and ran into a problem. The ignition rod is about 1 inch longer on the tilt so my ignition harness will not bolt up properly. Is this a common problem? I think it is an older column because it doesnt have the hi-beam switch ( i was going to install a floor mount).
Got the truck running in tip top shape, All i needed was new batteries. The batteries I got were no good and autozone replaced them and the truck started right up. Glow plugs work, headlights, interior lights, heater. good to go. Just need to clean up some wiring and work on the steering column.
I dont beleive it was the starter relay, i think it was due to lack of volts or a bad ground. I did do the doghead though.
Balancer is on order! (not into rebuilding motors)
Fried my new starter yesterday. Truck was running for 5 min and couldnt hear the starter wizzing away. Hopefully just the solenoid.
I must have a bad ground because it was cranking slow causing hi amps low volts to starter.
not sure about trucks but....
When i bought my motorcycle it was registered antique. When i bought it i had to re-send photos of the bike to get MY antique tags. (antique tags are not transferable). Sent in 4 photos and got the tag in a few weeks. If i wanted to drive the bike immediately i...
Got the truck running today. Got the running lights working, still no headlights. I think its the High/Low switch which i will replace tomorrow.
Truck cranked really slow until i jumped it with a deuce. Started right up.
My Gen1 Light does not come on but my gen 2 does come on. Any ideas...
There is really only the 2 wires that are missing, i dont think i need the whole block. The wiring diagrams for lights do not show the origin of power. they show a wire going to the back and a wire going to the front lights.
Can someone tell me where power originates for the headlights? I am going to run a fused power wire to bypass the busted fuse block.
Does power begin at the service light switch?
