The glow plug relay on the fire wall , behind the master cyl is supplied with 24 V with the top red wire, disconnect it and tape it up. From the top of the relay where you removed install a short wire to the triangular 12 v supply nex to it.
This will supply the system with 12v.
You won't be...
changing to a spade connector will not effect the resistor, yours looks original, you could resupply the glow plugs with 12v to prevent the cascading effect of the 24 v system.
As Jersey4X4 stated, but I don't have a pin welder so I mig welded on a few 1/4 x 20 nuts then I could screw my slide hammer to them and pull the dent out. Grind off the nuts, Some body filler and a cheap HF board sander finished it up.

You can pick up a hose connector 3/4 to 5/8 and disconnect the heater hoses at the fire wall and connect them together, you won't have heat, but no leak.
If the bumps are caused by the original pad lifting I would slice the bumps and insert contact cement to glue them down. Depressions can be filled with body filler, as usual surface prep will result in a better final product.
