I was wrong. The one with the crimped end is what is in my carburetor too. The other one came with a rebuild kit and the holes in it are smaller. I have not used the ones from the rebuild kit. The originals are marked "31" on top. Sorry for the confusion.
I wonder why some of those main well tubes are different? The one on the left is what is in my truck. The one on the right came in a rebuild kit. The one on the right looks like what you have.
Yep. That is why we started the parts list. No one has 1952 GMC M135 or M211 in their database. A lot of the parts are out there. Just have to find the modern equivalent.
From the picture you posted, it appears to be MN #2. I've never seen one made from plastic, just metal ones.
I'm still trying to figure this new scanner out for the rebuild manual. Sorry for the delay. Something I did not know before I got the manual is the governor spring post is supposed to...
They are not the same size or shape as the M35. The G749 windshield is the same width as the M923 but about 2 inches or so shorter.
We have found that we can use the M923 windshield seals for the G749. Just cut off that excess few inches at the top.
I am sorry for the picture quality but can you confirm for me which ones are the parts you replaced with the part numbers you found?
I believe the bearing is "B" and "G" in the drawing and the seal is "HH". Please correct me if I am wrong.
Sorry about the confusion. I have the parts list link as a read only, so that there is only one person adding numbers.
I will get the numbers you found added. Thank you for posting them up!! [thumbzup]
Any ideas or suggestions for the list are always welcome.
I believe those tubes are supposed to have the same size holes. They are called "Main Well Tubes" according to the rebuild manual.
The rebuild manual is TM 9-8647. Tomorrow night I will look to see if it calls out the sizes of the tubes and will also see what it takes to scan\post the Holley...
That is what I was afraid of but thanks to you I know where to make the adjustment now.
Anyone know where to find a set of these linkage adjusting tools?
The only time I have seen a carburetor stick like that was because the accelerator pump was way too tight. I did not have the carb on the truck, but noticed it when working it by hand. I put a new accelerator pump in that is listed in the parts list and it fixed my problem.
Never have seen a...
Thank you topo! That is what I was looking for. The truck is still on jack stands and I see the part you are talking about.
Will adjusting that linkage change anything else? My transmission is shifting fine and I don't want to mess any of that linkage adjustment up by changing something further...
Did you get this figured out yet Erik? I have not had a chance to help search for a replacement.
Would be a neat part to add to our part list. I believe I have found lug nuts both RH and LH thread that are like what are on these trucks and will get them added as soon as I confirm they are right.
I have investigated the above mentioned play and I don't think things are as bad as I thought. The bolts holding the driveline to the middle axle were barely more than finger tight.
The driveline was removed and a closer look showed me that the nut that holds the yoke on the transfer case is...
The carrier itself is bolted on. Just not the piece the carrier bolts to to keep if from swinging out while driving.
Did they by chance leave this piece on your truck when they mounted the fuel tank?
