I hope the LMC works for because I have read that they break quickly. I don't want to :deadhorse: but since you already have it apart you might want to put quality parts in so you don't end up aua having to do it a second time. 2cents Just so you know rear window is also on my "to do list".
I removed the dash cover and painted it with the tan upholstery paint just like the instrument face. It isn't too pretty, but with the tan it at least matches and it is no longer padded. Over the glove box it reads "Custom Deluxe" so I am guessing it isn't the original.
Uploading some pics of the dash and instrument panel. Since I had everything off I went ahead and tried some Tan upholstery paint from a rattle can and I like the results. Also competed the doghead starter mod :D
I was deployed, but I got lucky and was deployed with 3/20th SFG. We got got back around the same time though and start drill back up next month (with 690th)
I have finally joined the MV ranks and am now the proud parent of a M1009:-D. I bought her from GoldComet6 in GA and drove her back to FL.:driver: Did not have any major issues during the trip, but I did notice a few minor things. There was only one bulb working behind the speedo/fuel gauge...
While you are at it why not have your neighbor put some plastic tubing on the back side and run cold water through tubing...ice cold seats
The camo does look good, but I checked their site and they are a little on the pricey side. I would like to cover all the seats in my M1009 and I am leaning more towards Jatonka's od green canvas covers. If I only had one bench seat like you I would probably get what you did. Here is...
I vote to nickname the truck "Fire Marshall Bill." The window guards are a great idea and have been added to my ever growing wish list. To answer your question about the stuff making the news the answer is no. Just like stuff not making the news from Iraq or Afghanistan. Awesome truck! Even...
Twin sticking is new to me as I'm just getting into 4x4 mods, but I've driven plenty of 4x4 or 4x6 military vehicles. Basically it allows you control the front and rear axles separately and to disengage front or rear making the vehicle 2 wheel drive. If that is wrong please let me know. Is...
Definitely call the Provost Marshals office (MP Desk 719-526-2333/2335), but as an MP this is my 2cents. I would suggest bringing a small pistol case along and before going through the gate you clear and unload the weapon, and store the ammo separately. Since you are only visiting the post for...
Don't be too worried. I am in the FL National Guard and I can back Chief_919 statement about the National Guard swapping out running 6.2 to be replaced with 6.5. I am on the lookout for these motors too for parts.2cents
The turbo alone would be enough to buy the whole truck. Why wouldn't you want to add the turbo to your M1009? From what I read it would be a great addition to the engine.
