    SERVICE IN MILITARY

My grand-dad served in the army in WWI. My father was a Marine in WWII, was shot-up in the Philippine Islands and transferred to the newly formed Air Force for a total of 27 years active duty. I was active duty Air Force for 21 years. My oldest son did 4 years in the Marines.

Bobed truck, will 16.00 20's fit

I found this pic of a 4x4 conversion with 1400-20s. No obvious suspension mods, but very little upward travel. Custom wheels. Hot rod duce (SS member) has lifted his Deuce and is running very large tires.

I used the Hewitt Industries pyro and boost gauges in a home made bracket sandwiched between the windshield frame and hardtop.

Got a new Knuckle boot, no zipper sealer, now what do i do?

Lee, I used Permatex Ultra Black Silicone. If you apply it to both sides of the zipper after it's zipped up, it seals very well.

Wanted: -1C turbo, buy or trade

Phill, If I manage to purchase a -1C turbo I'll part with my -1D. In addition to the turbo you will need a turbo conversion kit. The kit will have all of the hoses, adapters, oil lines, gaskets, bolts and the intake adapter required to fit the turbo. Boyce Equipment sells the kit for about $100.

Wanted: -1C turbo, buy or trade

I'm trying to return my LDT465-1C back to the original configuration. It was retrofitted with -1D turbo sometime in the past. Does anyone have a good -1C whistler turbo to sell or trade for a good -1D turbo?

Plans for California trip in the works

Bjorn, I-70 west of Denver reaches elevations in excess of 11,000 feet. A large number of trucks use this route daily, they just do it very slowly due to the long sections of 6-8% grade. With a load like you have, the southern route would be better.

How large of tires will fit

I've been running 14.5 super singles for a couple of months now and the braking is equal or better than I had with 900-20 duals. I don't think weight is an issue, but it would be interesting to get the weight of a pair of 900-20s mounted and compare to a single 14.5R20 mounted. (need a big...
