I had talked to a Allison Tech here in Nebraska today. He sounded like I could take off the transmission ECM or CIM or some little box that has the transmission program in it. He said it's not the one behind the passenger knee panel, that's a relay and something else box. He said to look for a...
Suprman, can you tell me a little more about what you mean by mrap style air dryer?
On the engine heat, I was going to go with a block heater but wanted to see if you guys like the engine heater that is placed in the heater hose better. It helps with warming the cab faster then the block...
For those who don't like acronyms
"IBTL" is "in before the lock".
IBTL: I think a moderator should lock this thread immediately before it becomes any more juvenile. This is a site for mature adults, and hate-mongering discussions like this have no place in our community. Mods: please lock...
Really didn't ask about winterizing my truck. You might have just read that into it so as to write what you did. :( If you just want to reply to people with "just search the other threads" we will just stop asking questions or I will.
I have tried to do searches and really don't come up with...
Do any of you guys run your LMTV in the winter? I plan on it and was wondering about a block heater. Or are there any alternatives to a block heater that you like? I don't want to hear anyone say a heated garage! :)
Well, we cut 2 truck loads and the 1 trailer load yesterday. My wife just thinks this set-up is great for our firewood, the skid-steer is a great help too.
I'm going to remove mine then for a cleaner look. I thought it was a structure thing. The extra support for a turret, makes sense. Unless I can figure out something to mount on it soon, it's gone!
Thanks for all the information on this thread! I'll be posting photos when the replacement part are installed, it won't be for a while since mine really isn't that bad.
Forgot to mention that Terry at SPX said. It is recommended that a in-line lubricator be installed. I thought that I would...
Well, I'm going to put a new seal in my pump but wanted to get the right parts. Here is photos of all that I can see:
Is this in fact a SPX or the brand that is talk about in this thread? If so, is the part number listed at the start i.e. the U-cup the right one. I used photoshop to lay...
It would be a great get together but I live in Nebraska and the only way I would go to it is to drive my LMTV. I know for a fact that my wife would say... your kidding arn't you.... there's no way!
In January, the first 600 miles would be the hardest and then we need to return.
Question...
Man, I just throw the spare in the bed of the truck by hand. :)

Someone had said that if you can see white smoke coming from the unit, you need to rebuild or replace something. Can anyone expand on this statement? When I raise my cab or anything else with the hydraulic pump, I count around 2 pumps per second from the air/hydraulic pump. Does that sound...
Ok, My CTIS is working again. Here is a rundown of what I did. First and foremost I had to identify the pressure
switch that everyone was talking about. Mine is right above the CTIS supply line on the wet tank.
I then separated it and marked it with red dots for aligning it so I could connect...
So what I'm reading is when the truck is in a level position, add differential gear oil to the back axle in the fill hole in the center of the axle. No need to check the two cap plugs. BUT on the front axle check the differential oil AND the end caps for the proper level of oil.
