    Hmmwv beadlocks on m1008

First, Sorry about my spelling. What I am sayng is that a lot of people dissmise the use of spacers, but spacers when properly made have found uses among heavy rigs and are DOT approved (DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPOTATION) even for some big rigs application. They are not and answer to all, but a...

    Hmmwv beadlocks on m1008

the Humvee wheels have connical lugs holes and nuts and can not safelly be used reverse for high sustain speeds, they may not even center correctlly as the CUCV are not hubcentric, some of the Civilian early H1 Hummers "The scout" among then had the single 1 piece steel wheels and were hub...

    Hmmwv beadlocks on m1008

The CrossOver stering is a "SHOULD" do upgade kind of a thing. I consider it a nessecity with the 1973-1987(1991) GM trucks Any time you off road a lot or go to wider 35" or taller tires. The added weight inertia & friction from the taller/wider and heavier tires/wheels puts a lot of strain on...

    need an opinion

dsstang97 I would buy the used one for a $100, if you know is working and up to specs. Then if and when is dead you can rebuilt it. Not 100% sure of the part numbers but, there was an early and the more dissarable later model. Good luck either way!

    best lift for a m1008

With all the possible ways to lift this trucks and give articulation... My money for "OFF The Shelf springs" is on "BDS". I used their 5.5" spring lift for a 3/4 ton truck, that net me the 6" I was after with the Dana60. They are narrower then the 3" wide OEM springs used in front, but have more...

M-1008 1,100 miles in two days...

Thanks AJMBLAZER. I did not think of that. I had seal or known chevy cab leaks, replaced door & window seals (the vent windows are a PITA) and wheater stripps, added the artic insulation undermatt and replace the HD rubber matt. That made a "HUGE" difference, untill I opened the Air cleaner...

Mico Brake Lever lock, Where to mount it ?

Most rigs using levers or valves, that I have seen are some where in the floor middle or to the drivers left for eassy acces. You could place it on the dash, like bottons on Big Rigs maybe one the plates that many M1009 have in the dash trim and reinforse it from the back with bolts & a metal...

    Alternator

You can get replasments at the auto parts store for $100-140 using the OEM #1105500, but you most tell then that it has an Isolated ground and for an ambulance or limo aplication to get the 100 amp model, otherwise it will most likely be a 70-75 amp unit either way it may not last with their...

M-1008 1,100 miles in two days...

Hello Glen. Your "on the road" 20 MPG or more for a M1008, N/A 6.2 and the stout but power sapping 3 speed TH400 and 4.56 gears is Very Good and unusual. Most SS members seem to average 11-14. Not sure of their driving, terrain and modifications. For the M1008, I ended with after the build...

Kudos to you and companion on your journeys! Glad to read that you average 19 MPG. I did as well a couple times during long trips a few years back, when largelly stock with the OEM A/T tires.
