The M101 bed grafted onto the M1008 chassis is probably the most practical and maybe lighter, but NO bed sides that drop down or a true flat bed...
keep your Ideas and insight coming...
Thanks

Before getting my first CUCV, in 2002. A 1987 M1028A1, I SOLD it, too pristine (USAF with fresh everything... 383 OD paint, spare, jack & tools, 9K miles and only a cracked windshield) for my intended purpose) I was looking for a Military Jeep M151 or a Kaiser/Gladiator M700, Now I...
Yes, I figure they do a lot of cutting to Bob the M35 with supper singles & have to mess with tha axles. JUST LOOKING and wondering about what it would take?
Thanks, any thing you can add is welcome...
Just wondering:cookoo:
Has any one gone the Bob-job on a CUCV truck route, using a M35 bed with the drop sides/tailgate? They look built for abuse...
Looking around I found an Avatar with a CUCV pick up bed on a M900 ?
I imagine that it is probably needs to mount higher above the rails...
Hey Croatan_kid:
I would really like to have your engine, tranny and T/C in my M1008 but the extra unsprung weight of that hardware probable compresses your suspension just enough to squeeze into said garage. [thumbzup]
Just curious, After All your upgrades 6BT +400lbs.+NV4500__?Lbs...
If you are also goin to drive on pavement, Other then for garage limitations or if I actually used the truck to cargo 1 ton..
I would not limit myself to 4" lift to fit 36"- 37". The vertical difference to a good 5.5"-6" is only marginal and with better body clearance.
You can modify stock...
I think is awesome how some of you think this electrical design issues through.
Some of this electrical stuff is over me, so I'm thankful for the post and all the information it has help me better understand the pros and cons of it..
I hope the totality of parts and repairs will make my...
I am not sure about using any 24v. GP as the rest of the system is for 12v. GP's.
I thought about the self regulating AC 60G made in Germany by Beru and the Wellman equivalent G050 and also did ask here about first hand CUCV experience with the Bosch Duraterm premium BS80034 with a 3 years...
OK, point well taken.
On Friday 2/19/'09
I talk to Kevin a technician at IND.Inc., the makers of Diesel Rx or Wellman's GP. He said that the initial amp draw from each G070 is 15 amps per Glow plug (actually about 17), if only for a moment as they heat the amp draw decreases.
Other...
You are so right.
I am already temporarily using the 12v. from the 2 post termina on the firewalll to the Glow Plug Relay input side. I will be going directly from the front battery to the relay input side, With a in line fuse to spare overloading the 2 post plug on the firewall circuit...
Any one "on line" well verse with the CUCV starting system, that I can talk to about the CUCV 24v. resistor?
Please send private message so that I can CALL you right back live
I believe that if you leave the control card IN and cut the BLUE wire going to the card (since it is not working anyway) and ground and activate the GP relay with the manual switch your "wait lite" should work and if working it should also coincide with the seat belt buzzer
do not be comfused!
Well I am with you, this is what I have read in this and other forums.
The AC 60g have a 1/4" blade instead of the 3/16" of the AC 13g or Wellman's G070, this 2 GP's get hot quickly, maybe what is consider "Fast-Start" or "Fast Heating" in a properly working CUCV...
Good thing it was not worse!
I would like to know if the difference in the cards components actually amount to a difference in the way they function. My original and back up are different.
Will you have the wheels of the ground, you should also lube the King Pings, seldom if ever mention but they should be grease with the differential relived from any weight
Certainly du-able. Not sure in what tread (I think it was about turbos) but I have seen several photos of two battery's side by side in the rear tray, with modified original and DIY hold downs. Definitely not Group31 but smaller batterys
