Here is how the weight broke down. I kept track of the steel I used and using your box weight .
Box ... 400
Frame ... 150
Axle.... 60
Tires & wheels... 100
Tailgate... 50
----------
760
Not too bad I was shooting for under 800 Stock is 1360 . Thats a...
You make me laugh. I have been struggling to put a color on this thing. It will look better with a tan top when it shows up. I ARGEE it is alot of black.aua
They are electric. I hooked up the brake controller this morning and hauled sod to the yard waste and it worked great. Also dumped like a champ. Loaded a little rear end heavy pulled the pins, there she goes. I started with just a box by the way. the frame is my own nightmare.
OOO Nick what does the guy charge. I am so over budget on this. I got the same bolt pattern as my truck hoping I can use the truck spare, But I know the rim offset may not work maybe this weekend I try a swap. I'am worried about a tounge mount my tounge weight is 114lbs. and I don't know how...
Finished the main trailer today. Spray in bed liner all around. Looks pretty good with the gloss black frame. Led lights all work great nice and bright. Working on wood for stakes and top is two weeks out yet, fro GMA. Nice to be usable, I have more projects I need to use in now.
I did look at the LED's , you are right . i bought metal combo taillights I could'nt afford the led so I thought led in markers would look funny with the incandecent bulbs. I did'nt know that they had rear markers, Ill look at finding those. I thought the side markers would just look cool.
Nick where are you looking at placeing them I would like to put some on this build . The only place I can see is the bottom rail. I am worrried about them getting sheared off. unless I can find a low profile light.
Okay so off the frame drop down two plates that sandwich the mainrails. a couple inches ahead of the spring forward attachment. How about 1/4 in. plate with a 3/4 bolt castle and cotter pin.
If their stock( and they should be from GL )they should be a 5k axle. I could be wrong , but I thought they were 5k axle. The guy I bought mine from said with the sides on he gets a more than a full cord in one. There is a pic on here from a member with 8' logs to the top of the stakes with...
When I saw this thing for the first time I thought the same thing. The whole deal is in the box. Built like I have never seen. It will be interesting on the weight. Mine is a guess by being able to pick up one corner. It's going to work out sweet for our Wyoming hauler. The biggest thing is gas...
Wow I think you did a great job lightening up. I was estimating the Box @ some where around 300-350lbs. Yes the frame is custom. My box is new. no paint or anything. I hope to be @ 200 with just the frame 3x2 box 14 gauge and the tounge is 3/16 . I should be @ your weight when done.
