What is the fit problem ???
The CDR valve that NAPA sells as part # CRB 29445 is actually a Delco # CV910. It fits all the 6.2s and 6.5s. It comes with a 3 1/2" cannister and two short steel nipples - each 1" OD.
During the years, GM used at least four slighlty different CDR valves. All...
Oil filler cap stops the CDR from working
I've got a 6.2 in my "engine pile" that has a CDR vavle on it that the guy bought from NAPA. Needed a 1" longer rubber hose to fit.
In regard to me actually buying one recently and using it? Yes, I bought one from Rock Auto a while back for a new...
The V335 CDR valve that Rock Auto sells fits 6.2s and 6.5s. Note that some later 6.2s use a CDR plugged into the pass-side valve-cover, just like some 6.5s.
The V335 also back-fits the older 6.2s that used the CDR with the longer stem. You just have to adapt with some extra hose.
I...
No sense throwing your money away. One phone call and they're refund your money.
For mine the shipping was more then the parts. $12.05 shipping and $4.04 for the parts. That's why they told me to just keep them and they gave me a full refund. It wasn't worth it to them, to send them back...
Yeah, I got four of them. They are just gas-engine PCV valves. Just took one phone call and they refunded all my money and told me to keep them. Those parts WERE described as CDR valves with 3 1/2" cannisters. That was done by the wholesaler, not Rock Auto.
Funny thing is, the Rock Auto...
The company that is now making the new 6.5 blocks that are beefed up and heavier then the GM originals now offers a forged-steel crank as an option. Maybe that's what you saw, or was thinking of.
DS4 is an electronically controlled pump.
GM crankshaft in a 6.5 is NOT forged-steel. It is cast-iron, just like all the 6.2s. In fact, some of the later 6.2s use the same part # cranks as 6.5s. Different rear-main seal setup, but still cast-iron.
Actually the new one I posted an image of IS what the military would of used as a new replacement part in the 1990s. GM/AC Delco changed it a bit, as they do with many parts. In fact, they are probably made by CAV and GM/Delco just reboxes them.
The new CDR has a shorter metal nipple on it...
The CDR valves for 6.2s are for sale at many parts stores. In fact, Rock Auto has two brands for sale. The "wholesale closeout" CDRs are only $1 each. The Standard Motor brand ,V335 (GM #25097699) is $34.
NAPA sells them under the Echlin brand name.
All over the place with prices ranging...
I've been repairing Stanadyne/Roosamaster pumps for 40 years. I have never seen an internal seal cause that regulator/check-valve to plug. The major cause of that was the plastic (pellathane) dampener on the governor, inside the pump. It was completely eliminated in 1985. Pumps that had this...
Crankcase Depression Regulator Vavle is available from many places, including NAPA. There are two versions on 6.2s, early and late. The mounting differs on the two. Late ones attach directly to the pass-side valve cover. Early ones aer hose mounted.
Late type is NAPA CRB 29445. Other...
NAPA # for the Crankcase Depression Regulator Valve in a 6.2 diesel is CRB 29445. Cost $45.99.
Why do you think you need one? Is your rear main seal dripping oil? That's usually the only symptom.
GM uses JD5, JD6, and JD7 in diesel Blazers and trucks.
Blazers are JD5.
Trucks and Suburbans are JD6 or JD7.
JD5 is: 11.8" X 1.29" front rotors and 11.1" X 2.75" rear drums
JD6 is: 12.5" X 1.28" front rotors and 11.1" x 2.75" rear drums
JD7 is: 12.5" X 1.28" front rotors and 13" X 2.5"...
I don't believe any cleaner does a thing for the type of injector nozzles used in the 6.2s. They are pintle-type nozzles, i.e. no small mulitple nozzle holes to plug.
I've had many apart and have yet to ever find one that was suffering from anything but metal-parts wear. No cleaning fixes...
Many 80s diesel trucks use two temp switches, not just one. The two-prong switch is the "inhibit switch"; not temp sensor switch. IThe two priong switch prevents the glow plugs from working when the engine is warm. It's a useless device and was eliminated in later vehices. I'm tallking about...
Diesel trans is setup differently. Uses a special low-stall speed torque-converter and a different governor. Probably a few other minor differences I don't recall at the moment. I just got done swapping a gas 700R4 over to diesel specs and it had even more differences.
Regardless. that...
QUOTE=Iamnewatthis;778438]Okay, I looked and there is a metal tag hanging off of the top cover, its not triangular, its a straight tag hanging off with the letter "E" on it.
Also are the pressure regulator valve and the return valve the same thing?
I though we were talking about the return...
Pressure-regulator valve - Stanadyne and Spaco # 15830.
General Motors # 10149645
Maybe you ought to check that valve and verify IF it's actually plugged. If it IS, you' ve got an internal pump problem. Nothing in the fuel coming to the pump, can make it's way all the way through to plug...
You don't clean the valve for a good fix. You replace it with a new one, AFTER you fix the real problem, that's causing it to plug.
A new valve only costs around $4. It serves two purposes. #1 It is a one-way check valve to eliminate hard starting from fuel drain-back. #2 it is...
