Please post pics of your seats and how tall you are that you survived a 2300 mile trip. I find after 23 miles I am ready to get out and walk around for a few minutes to decompress
Yes that is a picture of mine if I remove the washer I am pretty sure the cotter pin will go in BUT NormB sent me pics of his with the same setup and his not only has the washer his also has the 3/16" thick spacer plate between the cone spacer plate and the bumper center brackets
here are the...
Thank you . I spent some time measuring some items with NormB and the vendor. The pintle shanks appear to be the same length as well as the distance to the cotter pin holes and the height of the nut. NormB removed his pintle and measured these items today he has the A2 bumper with the...
To try and not not make things to confusing I recently upgraded my M998 from the 3200 lbs towing MWO to an A2 air lift rear bumper with the big reinforcement plate using inner mounting brackets.
My issue is I am not able to get the nut to go on the pintle shank far enough to get the cotter pin...
Thanks NormB for the help installing the rear bumper
Basically we have the Hunter GSP9700 road force balancer
I used the adapter set that is specified by Chrysler to balance their wheels and I think GM and Ford also suggest the same adapters
most shops will not have this adapter set as it...
Thank you I have never seen anything come from a manufacture with mismatched ratios. What symptoms did they have and when were they able to create them? I had no idea the ratios were different since it drives smoothly
I am considering installing ARB lockers so I guess I can just change the...
I have a 1986 M998 that was overhauled in 2007 in ME. I noticed on the diff cover tags that the rear is stamped 2.56 and the front is stamped 2.73. I was going to pull the covers today with the vehicle on a lift until I discovered the brake caliper mounting bracket is blocking access to one or...
sorry I missed the part that you have a 60 amp alternator. I am still a HMMWV newbie but I have been a professional mechanic for 26 years now. I found on my personal vehicle with the dual voltage 100 amp alternator setup that when connecting a wire from the 14 volt stud on the regulator to the...
What alternator do you have? Does it have a dual voltage regulator? Are there any wires connected to the regulator 14 volt stud? There is a reason I am asking and I will explain if you do
So I took a look again at my diffs both have the Dana emblem and read DANA on the covers but the housing does look similar to the AMC20 the Jeep CJ's used. I also noticed my rear is supposed to be 2.56 and the front is 2.73 since I have no binding I am assuming the tag on one of them is wrong...
Glad you called them. I know for a fact the Diffs in my 1986 are made by Dana the covers have the Dana logo on them so maybe there are multiple diff manufactures out there that made the diffs for these. you may want to get the numbers off of the ring gear and see what google comes up with or...
Often with the ARB lockers in various applications need additional oil drainage areas machined or drilled into the differential. We have seen the oil make its way back to the compressors. Also if the oil if overfilled on any differential it can make its way out of the vent lines
I suggest...
Ironically I asked someone locally about this the other day because he has this on his vehicle. He said the same thing SF and the early SF so I did more research and found out that SF stands for special forces and the model number is M1165
I do not think they will work with soft tops which is...
I was going to say the same thing about the star washer. I don't think I have ever seen that much silicone under a flange before. I ordered new output seals and star washers and a pinion seal for mine then when I cleaned it off and took a better look it was only the pinion seal leaking and...
Definitely I am always looking to network with local people. My background is Jeeps but I am learning about the HMMWV quickly. Would like to see that Cummins conversion we are currently working on an old 12 valve truck that came from out west
Hello DatGuyC's I am new to the HMMWV crowd. I would like to check out you HMMWV I am one town north of you in Burtonsville and I have a pile of Jeep transfer cases if you still need any parts. They used multiple lengths on the input gears on the 23 spline 231 Jeep transfer cases. The 32RH auto...
There is a slight chance I have have the scanner and cables for this I will need to check. I have a Snap on Solus scanner probably the Ultra model that we rarely use and I googled that Jspec and Snap on Solus and they show up on the same documents I spent a few mins searching the document but...
No they can use an electric fuel pump mounted between the fuel tank and fuel rail. I am no expect on LS engines but I think they came out around 2000 or so and they came in several variations. Some came in trucks and others came in cars. Some are all aluminum and they are light and fit into...
