Gotcha. Last year I "modified" the fuel line to draw from an externa 30 gallon tank. The external tank float would not trigger the fill so I applied some island ingenuity by pulling the line from the tank and connecting it to the external tank. I then filled the internal tank with 5 gallons of...
Okay. The pump sounds like it does when I first turn it to prime.
I’m going to change out the fuel filter again - my last one on the island. Let’s see what that will do.

Okay. Got the AC going. Slowly adding more load.
Right now no change in smoke color.
Going to try to figure out what setting on the multimeter I need to view a load.

I tried that but when I turned on just the AC (no other breakers) it was bogging down almost to the point of stopping. In the past I have been able to run the AC.
Since we have some rain during the daylight I'll mess with it some. When the AC is off the housequickly gets over 85 degrees...
Now that I am thinking about it here is something strange. In the past we ran it with the AC and had no real issues but had to load shed. We couldn't run the water pump at the same time for instance. Now trying to only turn on the AC, it will bog down. With the AC off, it will run well...
Go figure... I need a load to clear the wet stacking and I need power run the house. I MUST have Air conditioning and I can't get the thing to spin up with that type of load right now.
It was 9pm so no way to see exhaust color.
Good fuel. I can replace the filter if need be.
It was initially spitting out all sorts of carbon. Would wetstacking cause such a loss?

A while back I was on after getting an 803a brought over to the Bahamas. Here we are almost 10 months later and power is mostly restored. On July 1 though BPL decided to swap out the larger power generator on the mainland so we have had intermittant power on the out island.
This afternoon we...
I braved the weather today and flew over a gas 7000kw/8750 surge generator. Unfortunately, I did not have much time to troubleshoot the generator since I had to basically rewire things for a portable generator hookup.
I double checked everything as far as wiring goes and it all looked good...
Well this is why I can’t have nice things...
My first renter arrived yesterday and couldn’t get the generator started.
Genny ran pretty much flawless last week.
Turned s1 to start and got a solid click but nothing else. Prime pump was running.
Had a moment where the low oil light came on...
Thank you. I do have 24v to the pump but nothing happens.
Unfortunately given the pace of the repairs that I needed to make, I didn’t have much time to do any testing and had to improvise.
Getting gutters in place to collect rainwater was a bit more of a priority.
I have made seven trips...
I like the surge suppressor idea.
For the aux tank, I have actually disconnected all of the lines going into the internal tank. Everything including the return fuel line now circulates through the aux. tank so no worries on overflowing.
Update
Over the Thanksgiving weekend we went back over to the island and spent 4 days working. I took some time to wire the generator into the power panel using the correct lockout kit. It took a bit but I tracked down the kit for under $75.00.
A few things that I found out after running...
I just exported an 803a to the Bahamas. They are not an ITAR restricted item but US Customs had to clear it for export. The shipper submitted the paperwork and it was cleared the next day.
