Iraq Looks Into Buying 36 Fighting Falcons

Mark… I certainly agree that an embargo of the F-16 parts would be useless with so many in production and service around the world. My point in referencing the Tomcat was that it was in service only with the U.S. Navy and only produced here and our embargo still did not completely stop them...

Iraq Looks Into Buying 36 Fighting Falcons

My concern is that selling them them F-16C/Ds and M1s is risky. Any of this equipment can end up in Iran, Russia, North Korea or Syria. Of course so many countries operate and build the F-16 that parts are available from many sources - new or used spares. We may not have a lot of influence...

Iraq Looks Into Buying 36 Fighting Falcons

I'd prefer we sell them equipment when we know it won't end up across the border in Iran. I just don't know about selling them F-16s and M1A2s. Could there be F-16 Fighting Falcons in the future of the Iraqi air force? The Iraqi government asked the Defense Department on Aug. 27 for...

    Bees - Ouch....

I would try to hang around the truck and watch where they enter/exit the truck from. Maybe can can leave the cab doors open to watch the dash area. If you have a can of wasp/hornet killer maybe you can pick off a few then. Once you know where the nest is you can attack! I always go after...

    Picture of G-671 accident - Japan 1955

This looks like a G-671 by IH, and I think it's an M426. Maybe somebody else can confirm that? I'm sure it came out better in this collision.

M37 accident photos taken in Japan during 1955

You're right, that's what FEAF meant. I think the backgrounds in all of the old photos I've posted are interesting too.

All of these were taken in Japan during 1954/55. I'm glad I don't have to explain how some of these happened. Just think of the paperwork involved!!!

M211 accident photo from Japan February 1955

Hey Guys, Here is a photo of what appears to be an M211 after hitting a power pole. It was taken in Japan on February 11, 1955. My dad was in the USAF from 1952-56 and was stationed in Japan before he was discharged. He was in the motor pool and someone gave him about 30 accident photos that...

Magazine test of the Buick M18 Hellcat

Good article on the M18. It has nice pics of restored vehicles and some history. The author tested a Hellcat that was recovered from the former Yugoslavia and was restored by General Motors. Enjoy! http://www.automobilemag.com/reviews/suvs/0502_buick_hellcat/index.html

    importing armor from outside US

Automobile Magazine did a story about buying a tank recently - "How to Buy a Tank". It's an interesting story whether you're in the market for a tank or not!! The author went to Czech Republic and talked to a company that will sell you anything ex-Russian military...including T-72s. Here is a...

    How many dueces

I've seen the same 800,000 number, but it was for the CCKW from World War II - not the Reo designed 2.5 truck. I have seen 150,000 units for the M35, but nothing more specific than that for the latter Deuce. I'm assuming that number was just for that one model, since I have never seen a number...

Deuce use - how do use yours?

Hey guys...I wanted to see how every uses their Deuce. I have thought about buying an M35A2 and wanted to see how usable they are before I buy. I guess I need to start going to some shows and see them in person to help me decide! So, are most used off road for fun? How many are used mostly...
