I pulled my m1008 it was my first truck pull ever. i was doing great until it shifted second automatically!!! after that it was over. the detrot lockers front in rear and 456 gears come in handy! Forget about that it shifted automatically with turbo 400!

I am looking for ideas to do a transmisson swap in my 1986 CUCV m1008. Or just looking to change the grearing so it will go over 60 mph and get better MPG. Is there a way to change gearing, with keeping the detriot lockers?
