The front winches on the m939 series trucks are a 20,000 lbs winch which I think is the same rating as the deuces. The only major difference is that the five tons winches are hydraulically driven as for the deuces I believe they are PTO driven. I dont have a winch on my truck but from what I've...
Tomarrow I plan to start my work with putting the condensor and drier in. If all goes well I will take the old heater unit out and try to install the heater a/c box. I will need someone to help me with the compressor being mounted since I stink at metal work so that will probably be one of the...
All I know is if you reverse that truck in low BAD things can happen. Im thinking you could have busted something in the transfer case. When you drove it were there any unusual noises? If it was the transfer I would be sure there would be some abnornal noises being made. One of the first places...
Now all I have to do is actually start this project. I will try to get the compressor mounted soon as I think it will be the most difficult to do. This is going to be a fun project!
Do you know if it runs? By the looks of it , it looks like it has been sitting there for quite a while. Looks like it could use some work but thats where the fun comes from is fixing them up. Thats a cool truck, good luck on your purchase and getting it going.
Where i live i have alot of sand and let me say it stinks in sand. I had my tires aired down to 35psi an that helped. I bet if i was to go down to 25 it would do even better. The problem is it starts bucking when the tires start spinning and that will give you some serious whiplash. I have found...
I saw those trucks for sale on craigslist. Good luck on your camper. If i was you I would get different tires on the mack because those tires in the dirt have NO traction. I would personally get the mack due to it being harder to find and being bigger. I like bigger and better, then again i live...
I have read that if you put in an a/c you will have to remove the heater. Have any of you guys had to remove the heater? I would like to have a heater and an a/c. How did you guys work around this?
All of the cummins 250's are very cold blooded. Mine most likely there is nothing wrong with the truck because in even 50 degree weather it still has to turn over some along with belching out white smoke. good luck.
When there is no air in the system like both guages should say zero. Then you should still be able to shift and it should be pretty easy. Usually with the interlock, it makes for pretty hard shifting. I would suggest just disconnecting the air to it and capping it off. I did this and my truck...
There is a guy on here his ss name is DROPRAT he is parting his truck out and selling stuff reasonably cheap. He still has it i believe and it will be easier just to replace it.
The thing i think will be the hardest is mounting the compressor. I have looked around my truck and it seems the best place will be right below the power steering pump or above the generator. Any thoughts?
