RE: CUCV
Well just heard from my friend. The internals of the starter are shot. They want about $160 to rebuild it. He is going to call Alfa & see what they are going to do for him. Updates to follow.
That's why I like the magnets. At a parade or show I can take it right off. Hit it with a hose to clean the dirt & then there is no trace a plate was even there.
My Alfa truck only has the seams also. Alfa only shot the underneith of mine. This ones ziebart looks like it was done a long time ago. I thought that was weird too.
I bolted a galvanized backing plate with SS bolts to the back on the license plate. I then put 4 large magnets on each corner of the plate. I put a bead of RTV around each magnet to keep them from sliding. Then I just laid it right on the tailgate. The magnets don't slide on the CARC at all.
Well here is a little update. I was over my buddies working on his still not running truck. First I would like to let you know some of the good points about the truck. I spent a good hour looking it over, top to bottom. Inside & out. Other then the misfit drivers door, the body is really nice &...
On mine the third should be a C for Chevy but mines an 8. After insuring mine with Geico I did get a call & then a letter asking me to verify my vin. They said it was so I was getting the best rate  . I just confirmed my vin & haven't heard from them since.
Well my friend barely got home with his M1009 from Alfa Heaven yesterday. First off this is what the website listing said about the truck.
1985 M1009 6.2 DIESEL 4x4 #MC86
30,xxx MILES.
6.2 DIESEL w/24V START (ALL OTHER ELECTRICS 12V)
Just back from Europe. Pre-wired for communications...
First, were you doing anything under the hood before this happened? If not first test voltage coming out of the #1 alt. If no voltage, I would say it's the wiring going to the light. In my experience the Alt. won't get excited if the light does not go on. If it is making voltage, get a wiring...
I actually was the first bidder on this book. I can't get over what the bidding is up to. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=017&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBI%3AIT&viewitem=&item=270079519062&rd=1,1
I like the red gauge lights on the older military trucks. I was fueling up at a truck stop and he had red moodlights on the shelf. Anyone know what bulb # is in the '85 chevy dash. I think it's a 194. Am I right :?:
